Day 3 Riding in the tuk tuk back to the hotel was a bit uncomfortable. It was raining so the driver had me sit up front with him. Well, I’m 6ft 4 inches tall and needless to say I was kissing my kneecaps on the way back to the hotel. When I got back to my room the first thing I did was take a much needed shower. The bathrooms at the Arcadia are beautiful. They have those glass doors that surround the shower and the water pressure was perfect. It feels like you just power wash all that grime and sex right off you. My friend and I like to call it the decontamination chamber. After my shower I went downstairs and enjoyed a nice breakfast. It was amazingly peaceful as I sat there on the terrace and overlooked the breathtaking landscape of the hotel. I could feel the calm breezes, smell the tropical flowers, and hear one of the many fountains splashing in the background. I know it sounds corny but it was perfect. It was one of the first moments I actually took a breather and just relaxed. After breakfast I went upstairs to tell my friend about the Valhalla situation. I was concerned about our reservation at the Expat Hotel considering it was located right next door to that hideous place. When we went to the Expat the night before we never actually looked in a room, only had a beer at the little bar in front of the hotel. Once I told my friend about my experience he recommended we go into town and find another place to stay. I agreed and was confident we would find something since I had a couple places in mind thanks to this forum. A couple hours later we caught a tuk tuk back to Patong. The first place I suggested we look at was the C & N Hotel. We strolled on over to the hotel, which is right around the corner from Bangla, and had the front desk girl show us a room. Everything checked out, the place was clean, had a nice bathroom, a balcony, and was only 600 Baht/ night (cheaper than both the Valhalla and Expat, which was unbelievable to me). The hallways were nicely kept and the hotel seemed very professional. They even had an internet shop located right next door to the lobby. They had a sign near the front desk that showed laundry prices, which were dirt cheap (5, 10, 12 Baht per item). The little soi where the hotel is located was very nice and had a few restaurants and 3 massage places. In Thailand you have hot days, and then there are really hot days. Well, today was one of those really hot days, so walking all over town to find other alternative accommodations was not sounding like something we wanted to do. The C & N Hotel was perfect for our purposes so we made arrangements to check-in the next day. The hotel even offered to pick us up for free at the Arcadia the next morning. If I could give a one word description of the C & N Hotel it would be convenient. Afterwards, feeling relieved that we found a suitable place to stay, we decided to grab some lunch. We walked back to Bangla and went to a pool hall/restaurant located on the corner of Sea Dragon. Little did I know at the time that this place would become one of my favorite hangouts. I’ll talk more about this place later in my upcoming field reports. After lunch, we went back to the hotel and just chilled out for the rest of the afternoon. That evening we had dinner at one of the hotel restaurants called ThaiKong. I guess it’s a twist of Chinese and Thai cuisine. It’s actually located right on the beach and the view from the restaurant was fantastic. We were the only people in the entire restaurant, which was cool but at the same time it made me feel kind of sorry for the staff. We were seated next to a huge window that looked straight out onto the ocean. I wanted to order the famous Phuket Lobster but unfortunately it was not in season so instead I got King Tiger Prawns. It was great, but I was a little uncomfortable with two waitresses and a host watching my every move as I sat there and ate my meal. My friend and I finished up our meals and went back to our rooms for the night. I had a little bit of a desire to go back out into town that night, but after the colossal waist the night before and my body on the verge of collapse I decided to just stay in and enjoy the luxury. I slept like a baby for the next 10 or so hours. Day 4 to follow

In dagul's defence I think everyone has taken a pass on going out for the night in LOS. But at the minimum, get a soapy or "room service" massage to prepare you for the rest. Shame on you.......555! Good, detailed, C&N review. I'm looking forward to staying there in September.

Your welcome about the C & N Hotel review. The C & N Resort was even better, which I'll describe in detail later - 1000 Baht/ night. By the way, I forgot to mention I did get a massage that afternoon at the hotel. It was one of the best ones I've ever received anywhere.

Just a massage or extras? BTW, if it's not apparent everyone's more or less joking when they're giving you crap, there's no need to justify what you felt like doing at that time.
