many places to visit around Phuket but as there are many islands,better to go on trips.
some beautiful places to visit.
why not rent the bike in BKK and ride down to HKT and back?.

The roads on Phuket Island itself are very slippery at some areas. I have only made it to Phang Nga and thought that the roads are better on the mainland.

My friends & I have rented bikes and driven to Krabi. We did not go further south. I have a great time renting bikes on each trip to Phuket. I never ride in Patong beach though unless I am coming or going out of the town. There are great cruising roads, both main roads and back roads that go all over the island, we have often crossed serasin (sp) bridge to the mainland and just made some great day trips. Do you know someone who rents bikes there? I have a Thai friend who rents bikes for very very good prices. His name is Nont 66-18938389 or when in Phuket 01-8938389
Tell him Brian sent you. He is not the biggest on the beach but as fair and honest as they get in Patong. I have been renting from him for the past 3 1/2 years everytime I am in Patong. He can also arrange airport pick ups, etc. Let me know if you need anymore additional info.

Does He rent big bikes like Honda 929 or Yamaha R-1 like they do in Pattaya? Motorcycle rental and prices seemed to have completly illuded me when I did internet research on Thailand. VERY pleasantly surprised with cost and availability in PattaYA! Great riding in between shags! Yowza!
