Calling the Phuket experts. My TGf & I love playing pool. Going to Phuket for the 1st time in Dec. Have noticed during my (limited) travels in Thailand (Hua Hin, Chaing Mai) that the pool scene is nothing like BKK.
How about in Patong/Phuket? What's the best bar to play? Nicest tables?

from taweewong (beach) road go into bangla road. on the left corner of bangla and rat-u-thit 200 pee road is rio club. they have two tables and it seems to be a nice fun place. its a combination pool, lounge, bar and disco.
if I am not mistaken this was the old site for rock hard a go go. its just pass all the infamous bars on sois  from the beginning of bangla its approximately 5 to 8 minute walk depending on your stride.

Theres a pool hall you could call it with several tables on School rd between Sea Pearl massage and Soi Sea pearl with all the bars.
Its a large white building and you can get a drink there and has a/c.
About 100- 150 mtrs up from the beach on the left hand side.
btw one of my mates scooped one of the pool boss girls for a st after her shift.
I`m not sure what time it opens but by the looks of it,its open from 12.00 till late.
Some of the used to be go go bars in Soi croc off Bangla now have pool tables.
For you and your gf I think the one on schook rd. should do.

Sounds like Phuket may be similar to Hua Hin/Chaing Mai. Small bars with 1 or 2 tables in varying conditions -from OK to piss poor!!
Not like BKK with nice pool bars like New Wave/Bamboo/Bully's. Or the nice pool halls like MegaBreak or Ball In Hand.

Corner of Bangla and Soi Sea Dragon, a place called Bier Kuche. 4 or 6 tables downstairs, and 4 upstairs (all 8 ball, hard to find a quality cue). A/C all the time and decent food as well. The girls working the tables... so go out and some don't. Most have bf's. Some freelancers cruise in and out all night long. Is my fave place to hangout, as no hassles. Some of the tables are great, some not. Same owner has that VIP pool bar (with some sharper players on Friday & Saturday) at the top of Bangla at the intersection of Rat-whatvever street. 2 bars over from Taipan. They have 4 tables in there, good condition. All 8 ball, and good cue's.
There is also the Dragon Disco (farther down Bangla towards Beach Road), which has around 8 tables (8 ball) and 1 snooker (which is in so-so condition). Good A/C and some cute hostesses, and nice sticks.

Wrong phuket is nothing like chaing mai far from, doing the last 2 years a lot of pool places like in Bkk have come, so dont worry you will find a lot of places to play pool, as long as you stay in patong

I know the place you speak of and have enjoyed many hours there. I prefer the upstairs tables because there is more room to move around. It also provides a nice view - you can look down onto Bangla and Soi Sea Dragon. I always went with a friend, but the staff is always willing to play with you if you don't have a partner. The girls are quite cute. Good service...
Nice place to hang out while the bars are getting ready for the night. I don't think they turn on the AC until the evening.
