I am going to be in Phuket in Early December and want to find some good snorkeling (I prefer it to diving, unless for muff). I am looking for both boat trips and off the beach sites. Where are the best snorkeling sites - good visibility, wildlife. Thanks all. If anyone want to join me give a hell.

Go to Patong beach and get in a long-boat. For a few baht they will take you around the cove to a private beach it is only about a 5 minute ride. At the beach you pay a few baht and can hang all day. they also have food and drinks you can buy. The beach is beautiful and snorkeling is the best on Phuket. Then the long boat will pick you up at the time you told them to and bring you back to Patong beach.

i came back fron phuket on sat nite, and the best place for snorkelling is definately phi phi islands or khai nai island you can arrange a day trip through "phang nga eco tours" by speedboat for 2800 baht it includes all food, drink and snacks, snorkelling equipment and there are loads of stop offs next to giving birth the most amazing day of my life!!! i also went to the similan islands very beautiful but the snorkelling is not to good!! hope this helps.

Phuket is not ideal for snorkeling. You should take day trips to Phi-Phi where the water is clean and there is a rich wildlife. It is an hour by the speed boat from Phuket.
