I've got a great room at half price, there are still enough people to make it lively and good ratio of girls to guys. Even getting good prices without bargaining too much when buying stuff.

Come on guys, the good people of Phuket need you. Anybody who is planning a visit to LOS in the next few months, do go to Phuket and put some of your money into the local economy. They are desperate for it. You'll have a great time and it will give you a nice warm feeling that you're also doing something positive to assist those locals that the International Tsunami donations won't reach.

i will be in Phuket on Feb 18th for upto 10 nights, so i'll be doing my bit to help the Thai economy recover.
Can you recommend any places with a pool that are g/f apart from the Blue Ocean & Patong Villa as both these are closed.

According of what I heard, Patong Villa has re-opend and operates normally.
I stay there since years, went to see the situation on january 4 and the cleaning was proceeding very fast by then indeed.

does anyone know how long it will take to walk to Bangla Road from the Blue Ocean resort?
I am looking for a 3* - 4* acc, preferably bungalow, with privacy, with a pool, that is definitely girl friendly.
I believe the Tropica bungalows are still non operational?

I'm staying at Sweet Bar & Villas which does have a very small swimming pool. They are the white and yellow villas you can see on the hill on the left if you were to drive out from Patong towards Phuket Town. Has a great view of Patong town and bay. I was told usual price at this time is 1600 but I'm paying 800 per night. Aircon, Cable tv, fridge, living area with couch and coffee table and very discreet for taking guests back. In fact you can take guests in through the back (!) so absolutely no problem. Its also all newly decorated with new furniture. I think very nice for the money.

I didn't like Blue Ocean. The showers are annoying, and otherwise not special. The walk to Bangla is 10-15 minutes IIRC.
