Who knows well the south part of Patong please give recommendation as to which hotel is more comfortable to walk from towards the beach, based on the location of the two following options.
We will bring the 3 y.o. child with us, so the conveniency to walk to the sea is one of the priorities. One hotel is somewhere further from the road to the residential area, another hotel is with direct wayout to the road to the sea.
1. http://www.phuket.com/hyton-leelavadee/location.htm

2. Coconut Village Resort

No other options of hotels. Please don't ask why.

Thank you.

Don't know about that location, but based on Google Map's Satellite picture, Hyton Leelavadee looks closer. See satellite map.

They are both close to the Beach, say 5-7 minutes walk. The only variation will where there exits are, from memory both exit into the Sub Soi but Coconut Village is on the actual Sub Soi & will probably be the most convenient!

bkkz, I am sorry, I you are right the sat pic surely shows that Hyton exits right on the subsoi as well as Coconut, but Hyton is just a bit closer to the sea.

Biff, both hotels exit on the same subsoi, according to the map attached to the bkkz's post.
Thank you.

I will be in Phuket, Patong next week & can look if you can wait this long? I think the difference in walking to the Beach will be minimal but also this is not the best part of Patong Beach you need to go probably 50-80M further North & Patong is by far not the best beach in Phuket, just one of the busiest!

Thank you, Oz.
I'd appreciate it.
So, you think northern part of Patong beach is better for swimming and sunbathing?
I guess so, too. I was in Patong several times from 1998 to 2005, two weeks vacation. Stayed at Thara Patong and SalaThai. So, I never went to south part of Patong beach. I know that Kata, Kamala, Karon are better than Patong beachwise, but I choose Patong for its nightlife.

Coconut Viilage Resort is 5 minute walk to beach. The soi it sits on has a fun collection of little bars (Dolphin Bar, Blue Coral, etc...). They are a bit more family oriented, but still a nice place to unwind if you are looking for an alternative to Bangla. You can also find a 7-Eleven opposite of these bars if you need water or whatever else. The soi ends at the beach where jet skis are rented so you will probably need to walk up just a little bit to get away from that. Not exactly sure where Leelavadee is, but looks like it is in the same location.

Agree, Patong Beach not the best beach... Top beaches I like in no particular order:
1. Nai Harn
2. Laemsing
3. Surin
4. Kata

Karon is nice but very dangerous during the low season (with the monsoon currents rolling through). I'm always hearing of some tourist drowning there.
