Planning my first trip to Phuket (and Thailand for that matter) and doing research on hotels. Was intrigued by The Residence at Kalim Bay (http://www.kalimbay.com/index.htm); seems to be unique in that every "apartment" is a 2-bedroom suite that appears to have a lot of space. Would be perfect for me and my travelling companion as we could share costs yet still be afforded some privacy for the inevitable activities. At 6,000 baht per night, seems pretty reasonable.
Does anyone have any experience with this place and its location? Of course, having learned the nuances of "guest friendliness" with BKK and Patong hotels, this is of great concern. The website says maximum occupany of four, so I wouldn't think we'd have a problem, but thought it best to solicit the advice of more seasoned Phuketers.
Been also highly recommended Orchid Residence, which is cheaper yet still looks nice and is totally guest tolerant.
Any insight would be appreciated. Also, if you have other recommendations, I'm all ears. We're splurging so price is not a huge concern as long as we're at least approaching worthiness for the money.

Very Nice Place.....On the Edge of the town area and the Tuk Tuk at night is the same 100 Baht.. ..No problem with guest they say. I get that in you res contract..If you look There are many sites but this one will get you
http://www.kalimbayapartments.com I actually looked at a rental unit there for a 6 mos contract.....down side a family place and you can swim after 10pm. A little far for day walking, I would live there but not vacation there. Check out the Below! If you are looking for the same set up have a look at the 2 bedroom poolterrace side apartment at Thara Patong
http://www.tharapatong.com same Baht and you open up on to the pool with private sitting area where you can dangel your feet. Very Nice for some late night swimming, cool off before go boom boom warm up.....Most T.G.'s will go for a swim in a tank top and their panties... For some boys on the hunt check out that Thara Patong, very nice rooms and the girls you bring back will love it!

Many thanks for reply. Looks like a very nice place, exactly the type of place we're looking for. But the same baht as Kalim? They show over 16,000 per night for 2-bdrm pool terrace on website, am I missing something? That's a little outside what I was hoping to spend for a night. Probably can get it less on some other sites I imagine but can't be that much difference.
