It is the wishes of the parents that their daughters are virgins when they are married.
I met more virgins in Chiang Mai than anyplace else I've been in Thailand.

In the typical Thai way this statement leaves a lot of scope for interpretation in different ways. Let's see:
1. "I have not and will not have sex before marriage" could just be referring to the marriage she hopes to enter into thro this advertisement. Nowhere has she said that she has not had other marriages before or that she is a virgin. Isn't this an age-old Thai trick, to leave you guessing, or to lead you up the garden path and let you bark blissfully up the wrong tree ?
2. "I hope I can find true love here" could possibly imply that she has had other affairs before and didn't find her concept of true love. That doesn't rule out sex.
3. Now why are we all assuming it's a girl ?

I would imagine it is pretty common in Thailand. I have two TG friends who are "good girls" and from the way they talk I am pretty sure they are still virgins, or close to it, even though one is in her late twenties.
