All,
Anyone used any form of private investigator here in Bkk recently?
Just asking as I am trying to find out some information. I contacted a so called reputable agency here, made famous by this site, but after the initial email response, all enquiries have gone unanswered and ignored.
A totally shit and unprofessional service is how I would describe it, so am looking for any viable alternatives.
Any help appreciated.

Interesting stuff, very useful and informative.
I have advised the afore mentioned company to many others and they never seemed to have any issues, plus I personally did not have any when I had used them. Since then I have been in contact with the owner socially etc like some of us have on here.
Over the last few months I have not been in contact with him as in, I have not seem him out and about, which I assume is because he is busy as if he was not, I am sure he would be enjoying the delights of Bangkok like we all do. I have however been CC on some emails backwards and forwards from a company that I have advised to use them as they have in recent weeks completed a large scale investigation for them.
What I did find out about them is that they will not take a step until money is on the table, may I inquire as to, did your payment go through to them? and if so maybe you should use the 100% money back guarantee they offer, as they seem to be the only PI company in Thailand that offers this.
I am interested in your reply as I do advise his services to others based three reasons
1 The refund policy
2 If the money had reached them and no work had happened then this is not cricket and they will be off my list of people to recommend for certain things.
3 In my past experience they have came up with the goods when the people I have advised to use them have and this also includes myself in this mix.
Finally and what I suppose is the most interesting for me is how much did you pay them, did you feel it was over the odds for the job they had to do?

... may I ask, UKShaga, I am curious... what sort of work has this guy done for you and the folks you referred to him?... is this 'local-local' street level intel on gurlfriends activities, or something more?... what type of work is he best prepared to perform?
... and, BombSquad... for what services are you looking?... is your expectation mismatched for the scope of work this guy is best equipped to perform?

I advised them to five companies and two examples are below.
1: A US client of mine.
He asked me if I knew a company that could track and/or find a factory based in Thailand that was making a copy version of a cosmetic they produce. All they could offer as leads was products from both sides and hearsay.
From what I understand the job was completed in a "medium timely manner", is how they explained it to me. When I asked what this meant, they elaborated that the, "work was performed in a time frame which they would have expected a job of this nature performed in the west" and they thought that, "in the east it would have been completed faster" but no complaints.
The information and connections provided by the afore mentioned company resulted in negative consequences for the offending factory.
2: A very large sports brand that a good friend of mine works for wanted an Investigation into production of fake goods in Thailand. As they already have a very corporate style international investigations company working for them in Thailand they wanted a just as professional but more on the ground company to get further information.
The contract finished about 3 weeks ago and it lasted over a 10 month period on and off. My contact told me that the costing was over the budget they anticipated but the results due to a obvious high level of technology used in the work meant they was given more than enough information for what they needed. Even though they do not want further work done in this area and the company they normally use will take over again, if they needed more work done like this they would use them for further work.
They where so pleased they even gave me a few nice pairs of expensive running shoes. I think they are trying to tell me I am fat, "which is true"
I used them to find an old school friend of mine that went missing in the Northeast of Thailand. The job took about 12 hours and ended with them finding out that he died some months ago.
Various people I know have used them for this compaines bread and butter jobs, meaning tracking ladies with stars on there asses that work in Bars, or as the sponsors believes, do not work in bars anymore.
I am sure this company like all have slipped and buggered up from time to time but from my firsthand experaince, if this did happen and it has with someone I advised to use them, then the mistake was resolved fast and professionally. In this case, the problem or maybe the mistake actually meant a better result in the end.

Thanks for the detailed and informative responses, much appreciated.
My need was pretty basic, just to locate someone, nothing more. I provided the company with detailed information and only went to someone as my Thai is basic to say the least. It was not as if I gave them a name and nothing more. If I spoke the language I am pretty sure I could track them down myself with the information I have.
What pissed me off was the total lack of comms and professionalism shown. All emails over a period of months were studiously ignored.
RTB - I might take you up on the offer and would be happy to pay for it. I will get back to you if you don't mind.
