Never tripped down to Koh Samet. Should one bring their own from Bkk or are there some sweeties prowling the beaches/pubs ????? How is the nitelife ???
Is it worth visiting ??? Best to leave from Bkk or Pattaya ???? I ask because it's not too far from either place, so if things don't work out you can send your gal on her way with her salary & travel $$$ and she can get back to work the same nite.

I just posted something similar about Koh Samet on another string, possibly field reports. I thought it was quite nice there but not really the main beach area which was a bit of a backpacker haven with bars playing techno/trance music - very much a Kao Sarn Rd vibe. TubTim beach (which is just south of the main beach) was nice and the bar and restaraunt on the beach was pretty cool and played some nice mellow music in the evening. Didn't see the other beaches on this side of the island but there is also a nice quiet beach on the other side (the only beach on that side - Ao Prao I think it was called - almost zero nightlife here though).
From what I saw you will definately need to take your own TG from BKK or Pattaya, I'm not sure Koh Samet offers anything at all from that point of view. I had a "good" TG with me so wasn't really looking. Maybe some of the other guys know otherwise. I thought it was worth the relatively short trip to get there, especially if you want a laidback time.

Koh Samet is a nice "get away from it all" island, not much of a party place unless you take a group of friends with you. Have to bring your own girl. The further away from the ferry you go the better and more isolated the beaches are. Mosquito repellant is a must. Caution...a lot of Thai ladies will not like to be in the sunshine for long, if at all. They value pale skin.

I have been there once and I don't think that I would ever go again. It just wasn't for me. If you are a beach person and must of a very relaxing enviornment then you might want to try it. And from what I saw you will need to bring your own TG. I did.

I just spent 5 days at the saikeaow beach resort on Ko Samet. I brought a lady from pattaya along and was glad that i did, i don't think you'd get any action there otherwise. It was a nice break from non stop gogo action, there is nightlife there, bars, kareoke etc, but not enough party people around to make anything happen. It would be a good place for a honeymoon, and i joked with my TG that we were on ours.
It was very helpful to have my TG along to help with all the travel arrangements back and forth.
One thing that was kind of weird is that my TG was very slender and petite, and when she wasn't all dolled up she looked like she was about 12 years old ! Sometimes people gave a look of scorn that would normally be reserved for child molesters and i definitely felt some heat, what could i do show them her ID ?
It's a great place, I'd go back again, but i'll bring a lady that can fill a swimsuit out a little fuller...

Pretty good reports from the Bros, [ as per the norm on Bkk2nite - thanks again to BK ] - It does seem perhaps the best overall TGs are in Bangkok, gradually drifting off to resorts as the competetion from the new, younger brigade makes getting a $$ here difficult [ thats my belief, anyway ] so in most cases, as long as you have spent some time with the TG beforehand, and are happy to have her along, take her with you - mind you, always no problem to find some new talent, just may not be better ! I think the Hilton Hua Hin for a couple of days is probably my pick - just a couple of hours drive, rentals from thai companies are only just over 1000 bt a day, and it is a freeway all the way, plus you can get aropund to local sites/MPs ? as needed ....

Definitely bring company along to most of the island getaways here in Thailand. I would only consider going solo her to Phuket and or Koh Samuii. These islands have areas where you will find a lady if you need to. Everywhere else I have been has a poor selection, beautiful beaches and nice resorts, but definitley lacking in the LBFM selection.
In addition once you check in with a LBFM you have no problems with the management.

Koh Samet is a nice place for a short trip and some relaxation. Koh Chang might be a better choice but a bit far....I think you better take your girl(s) to Koh Samet since I haven´t seen any nightlife from where you can get an ST/LT....many Thai ladies are going there in medium to large groups for holidays but it is kinda difficult to score....try anyway...

I took my family and our nanny to Koh Samet back then. She was a very pretty, brown skinned girl from Khon Kaen, but also very innocent. Some old guy* started to put the moves on her while my back was turned and it pretty much freaked her out. Fortunately she didn't actually know what he was saying. I'm guessing he was a bit desparate or very intrigued by the fresh blood. Good thing he didn't know she was a virgin!
For reference, she was 18 and this guy was probably about 50-60 range.

I was in Kho Chang some months ago. There are two bars in White Sand Beach with about 6 girls each.
BF = 200
ST = 500
LT = 1000
Average girls, nothing special.
