Are any of you married to a TG?
I've met a non-BG (secretary, univ. grad.)via the internet and we seem to have hit it off well. I'm seriously considering meeting up with her during my next visit. Can anyone tell me what to expect when we first meet in person, and what to expect if things get serious between us?

I am engaged to a non-BG. What to expect? Someone that is sensitive, hopeful, wanting to trust, wonderful, gentle, passionate yet reserved, probably has some pretty bad ideas of what farang are like, the normal thing. Much like you and the way you think of a Thai woman. Just be yourself and see what happens. understanding of her situation, be patient, be honest, be polite. BE HONEST. Feel lucky. Treat her as a woman and person with feelings. What can I say? Above all be honest and understanding.

KinHoy, actually I think there are several good relationships involving BG and non-BG here....
I guess my only real advise is to remember to not treat her as a BG. Be very mindful that she is still Thai, with all their wonderful traits including her devotion to family. Learn to accept it and enjoy it. If you wish to marry a Thai woman then take the whole package and not try to change her. Besides, a smart man knows he will be happy when his wife is happy... Learn to like the feeling saying, "Yes, Dear." Makes things a whole lot easier!

All is not what it seems in chat rooms. I would be very surprized if she is not in the p4p bizz.
SWEEPING GENERALIZATION AHEAD
Average Thai women is reserved,somewhat shy. They don't tend on going into chat rooms. When a Thai women is seen with a falang other Thais think she is a whore and many women will not socialize with falang because of that.
I hope ThaiPrivateEye jumps in here as he has lived in LOS for years and knows a hell of alot more about Thai women then I do.

Can't agree with you bigDUSA.Over the years I have met many Thai girls in chat rooms and arranged to meet them when I arrive in Thailand.
They were all well educated and certainly not in the P4P bizz.I agree with you that most Thai girls are shy but I find that in lots of them there is a thrill in meeting a western guy as if it were something that they shouldn't be doing.Most of these girls I have not ended up having sex with but really enjoyed talking with them and getting non bar girls thoughts on things.

I'm married with a TG, (we can place her among the hi-so for family background & job) and, besides the first few face2face meeting, we get to know chatting during our free time as short after meeting her in Bangkok I went back to Europe for a year........so, in our case the chat turned a good way to keep in touch and get deep into our feelings......after a year or so, she came and visit me for a couple of weeks in Europe also checking the possibility to move there and find a job.....at the end we decided to be better to stay in Thailand and we now we are living a good life......
Just to say that when there are a couple of good brains working and honest feelings, everything it's possibile!
Btw, what to expect...first, I suggest you to trade a couple of pix (guess you done it already) so to give a face to your sweety......then, a few phone conversations would bring no harm for sure....finally, get to meet her for real and carefully evaluate the situation....don't pust, don't rush, let things flow naturally and be ready to face some funny/strange/difficult situations due to the different cultural/social background....
