I have had this type of experience with a girl I met in a Soi 33 bar, but it was just for a few days in December. When I came back in January, she was gone from BKK, but will be back when I come back in Feb. No screwing for me, no money for her, just fun. I like her very much, probably because my relationship with her is different than with all the rest.
I still haven't quite figured her out and what she is really all about, but that's OK. I stopped thinking about it.
Where to meet more girls like this? It might be luck.

luck, yes. but it depends a lot where you hang out, what you do how you dress. if you do business her or not.
I have developed friendships with two women in thailand so far. we hang out go for dinners and stuff. I mean it's great for the girls to have me so they are not bothered by other guys.
I have to admit that I had different plans for both of them in the beginning, but it became very clear that they were not looking for a lover but a friend.
and that's what we are now, just friends.

Every woman friend that I have had who was anywhere near presentable I have generally screwed up by making a pass at her...usually under the influence of drink. They may be flattered by the attention but it's sometimes difficult to go back to normal again. Having said that, if you get past the 3-month mark without hitting on her then it is unlikely that you ever will do & you can enjoy her for who she is rather than what she carries. Unfortunately, 3 months is a long time!
Nowadays, I stick to blokes for friends..you know where you stand with them. They are like dogs..loyal but a bit simple. Women friends have the wily charms of cats, and those Siamese ones need to be watched even more carefully.

In farangland, it certainly helps if she's past the age of fancy.
Relatively easy in LOS, though. TGs seem to be entirely comfortable with x-gender platonic friendships, don't get defensive waiting for the guy to try it on and aren't forever asking themselves 'where is this heading?'
As for you - well, you can get your rocks off whenever you want, so there's much less incentive to try to exploit friendships for sex. Presumably, she's always been around guys in the same boat. Imo, this is one of the pleasanter by-products of the Thai P4P system.

My advice is to pick up a couple of 'friends' from the internet. Web sites such as http://www.bangkokchat.com.
These girls all speak reasonable english and usually know their way around pretty well.
The key is to remember not to f*** her when you meet if you want to use her as a friend. I always find this part more difficult than it sounds....
