From my own personal experience I would say (A). Met a young lady on Soi Cowboy during my last trip. On our first night she was digging through her purse looking for an ID. Mentioned that she had two ID's and was using her sisters ID who worked at the same bar. I later met her sister and they could almost be twins. To make a long story short found out after seeing her for the third time she was only 17. Would never have guessed her age as she looked at least mid 20's. So, you just never know.

My TG lost her ID card when I was with her in November.
She said all she had to do was go to the police station and get temporary ID, but she was in no hurry to do so
which I found odd. Fortunately her ID was found in her bar a few days later.Bought the finder a drink to sat thanks.

I am not a great expert on this but I have been told that the rules have been changed and that TGs no longer have to return to their amphur to get a replacement ID card. (I assume this has something to do with creating some sort of national database of sorts).
Now this might be bullshit.
It might be partly true (can be done if you come from Chiang Mai but not if you are from Nakhon Nowhere. This would explain some of the discrepances between posts)
Or it might now apply to all TGs...
Presumably someone can enlighten us...

C.) Give her 5000 baht because 1.) you feel really sick inside and 2.) guilty that you are supporting the p4p industry that put her there in the first place and 3.) hope that the money will hold her over for a while so she won't have to go home with some old fat ugly bald guy.

Singleman, excuse my naivety, but I didn't think that bars employed under age girls. But I would have gone back to the bar and asked for my barfine back and given them a piece of my mind.
By choosing C, you are sending her the message loud and clear, that this Bar Girl work was far more profitable than she thought. Provided that she can find a Farang with a conscience. Which is most of us.
Who's to say that she doesn't prefer old, fat, ugly, bald guys? By the way, I'm only old, but I'm sure that you're going to hear soon from the guys that fit that description perfectly.

I think taking her back to the bar and getting your BF back would be better? Don't know if it would work but worth a try
Don't you think giving her 5000 baht is just going to make her even more want to work?
Did she look underage or have ID showing she was 15? or fake ID showing she was older?

Like everything in every bunch of apples there are a few bad ones. I wouldn't say it is common practice but I am sure some do.
Sometimes the bars know and maybe sometimes less often the girl gets ID so the bar might not know.

The 17 year-old I met was from Long Gun and was not only working at the bar in street clothes but was up on the stage dancing. So, yes they do work in the bars. BK met her at bamboo and I'm pretty sure he had no idea she was 17. I hope he would have pointed that out. Always something else to learn and experience in LOS.
