Has anyone bothered reading the original poster's question before throwing out answers?
Seems to me that the choices are between an ex-BG who's 'found religion', and a regular Cebu girl (non-BG) who seems to be GF material.
I really don't think the country of origin has much to do with the choices here, but from a personal point of view, I'd steer a wide berth from the born-again ex-BG. She may not be making many demands, and just wants you to visit, but folks who tend to 'find religion' are general a can of worms of other problems.
As one person in this thread mentioned - you've already moved on, why would you want to jeopardize that?

Cannot say it better. Like always it depends on the individual person but in general and in my opinion Filipinas are more reliable and trustworthy - basics for a long term relationship, I guess. This is due to the fact that behavior is driven by cultural values: The PIs cultural background and the common value perceptions make a living together easier: They do not take care of losing face (no big lies...), no need to support the family etc. etc.
But as far as liberated sexual behavior is concerned (f***ing around) I would always go for the Thai lady.
I have had a Filipina girlfriend from Cebu for the past two years but do not know much about TGs outside the P4P scene.
Considering the choice of an ex-BG which definitely have a "baggage" - no matter how big - and the Cebu girl, which you obviously like and seems to be serious, my decision would be to go for the Filipina Lady. The PI is not a sanuk place, maybe you can head for Boracay to have a nice setting for your holiday and make more things possible with your girl. You can still butterfly, have a short stop in BKK before proceeding to Manila or after coming back.

Thai women can be great wives and companions. They are wonderful people but there are cultural differences. So what, read the book, get over it, make a decision, and have a happy life and be firm with your TG.
My LTGF has gotten a little greedy and and she just got a probation notice and salmon slip. This will be followed by a second probation notice, and if the inappropriate behavior continues, the slip will be pink and I will move on to other yellowish-bown and pink.

I do normally do not resort to assertive language, but what the f*** are you talking about? Please do not downgrade one of the most stunning countries on earth without appropriate knowledge to do so. You obviously have not spent time enough in the PI for fully appreciate it.
Boracay was nice 5/10 years ago, but It has deteriorated substantially. If Boracayis what you like, that’s cool, but the PI has so much more to offer then Boracay and Angeles. I am not going to play travel agent here, but anyone who needs inside info on the PI, PM me.

I am not downgrading the PI.
Maybe the phrase is not really appropriate here, but....
sanuk can represent many things: eat together, to be with friends and chat, to go out with friends. Of course this is the same for the PI. So generalizing the PI as being not a sanuk place is wrong from my side. It was never my intention to get it understood like this.
But sanuk as well means "the art of putting a little fun into everything you do" and "to feel in a special way easy about everything".
And here is where the difference is: From my experience the ease of life is not as outstanding as in Thailand. (Due to whatever reasons, the strong catholic background might serve as one explanation but there are many more.)
What I further mean is the sanuk-contributing surroundings: The proper infrastructure, no security hazzles, service mentality, the cultural diversification etc.
I do like the PI a lot. There is no need to attack me the way you did. You do not know me or my knowledge enough to judge that way. I never said I only know or only go for Boracay, that was just an example. Nor did I mention Angeles at all.
Once again, this is my personal view and has got absolutely nothing to do with downgrading the PI.
The quoted phrase has to be seen in the context of my post. I am sorry for misunderstandings and hope to clarify it by this post.

Coming back to the Sanuk thing.
I lived 2 years in a very poor neighborhood in Manila, very close to the slums of Malate. Personality I have never seen people bear their extreme poverty so well. They didn’t know IF they would be able to feed their children that night, but they always had time for a smile or a chat. I respect that enormously. On numerous occasions I have taken whole families to jollibee and these people would die for me.
Here in Bangkok I have the feeling that everybody is trying to take advantage of the farrang. Granted I have never been outside BKKK, but that is just my feeling. This happens in the PI as well, of course, but it is not as rampant as here I feel.

Great discussion and answers here. I'm leaning toward Pinay as she is from strong Catholic family and the culture thing is so close to USA, that it really does make it easier.
TGF didnt just find religion recently, it has been a very strong part of her family for a long time. The first thing she had to do in the new house I paid for was build the Buddha room and a large monument outside ($1,500). Ther only house in this new neighborhood with a buddha house prominently diplayed in the front yard
If you visit PI, Manila and Angeles fine for P4P, nice girls usual scam and bad stuff too. Cebu/Boracay/Bohol better for GFE and long term sweeties. IMHO
May visit TGF for fun though...

IMHO probably thai. Thai's are not poisoned by American culture. I am from there and I feel most American women are very spoiled. Most pinay's are this way too. Very high population of Filipinos where I am. Also my friend is a pinoy and he told me many pinay's can be psycho. In the end it's all up to you. However for me, I am leaning towards Thai.

All in all, I would say a filipina would be the better choice to take back to the western world, if you could live with the rabid Catholicism.
Me, I'd rather get in cozy with a Thai in her home country, hopefully one from a small family!

In reply to married2abg, the little house you paid for in the yard, has very littel to do with real buddhism, It is a spirit house, to provide a home for the spirits you hasve disturbed, more Animism than Buddhism.
After 24 years here I have come to the conclusion that very very few Thai's practice thederavan buddism in its real sense, most I have met cannot even accurately describe it.
On to the plot...........
I have been priviledged to know and love some beautiful girls in my time, Thai, Phillipino, indonesian, malaysian, Singaporean. In my humble biased opinion the best girls I met were Singaporean and Indonesian.
I loved the PI but also hated it as they seemed to have taken the worst of US gun culture and adopted it.
Over 24 years working around asia and tallying up the scores, I find that mates I have worked with who have married in Thailand or Phillipines = 27
mates who married Thais = 19
mates who married fillipinos = 8
Still married/happy in Thailand =15
Still married/happy in phillipines = 5
So, the Thais actually have it on percentages, but maybe I am skewed because most of my mates are Aussies or english. Then again.............
mates in UK who married over this period =38
(in all but one case to white UK girls, the other married a bombshell from Nigeria)
still married = 23
So the moral of the story, stay away form that nasty white stuff.
