If the golfer gets a cart, the girl places the clubs on the cart and rides on the cart as well.
If the golfer walks, the caddy usually has a pull cart upon which the golf clubs rest.
Maybe 10-12 years ago, everybody walked and the only place that had pull carts was Siam Country Club in Pattaya. The modern world has taken over.

Thank goodness for golf carts. Making your caddy carry a cooler full of beer in addition to your bag is just too cruel.

As an aside, it is, of course, perfectly possible. 30 caddies at the most exclusive golf club in Bangkok were sacked last year for having sex with one Thai guy (at different times I assume). To the best of my knowledge the Thai guy is still a member.

I had an interesting caddy experience at Blue Canyon in Phuket last month.
I had a short but cute Krabi girl as a caddy. On the last hole the sky opened up when we were midway up the fairway. Being a walking course we could not get to cover so I pulled out my umbrella and we stood huddled together under it for about 5 minutes until the downpour stopped.
Later that afternoon when I was loading my golf travel bag in my car I noticed that the name card that I put on it for identification was turned over and on it was written:
f*** you, really!!! (with a smiley face after the text)
Either she did not like the tip or she really wanted to get it on.
In any event, my Singapore lady friend who was traveling with me was not amused...
