Don't worry Sam, as foreigners we have to do what we think is the safest resolution at the time. I've had few touchy situations and just paid the bitches off, but not 20k. I was not there so I will not criticize. You have obviously learned the hard way like all of us and will be much the wiser and even appreciate TG more and be more realistic.
Alifco seems a bit hostile. I think he must have gone through this a couple of times.

The Reason I kept her till the next day was we were flying from Chang mai to BKK and I had the tickets, and I did agree to pay 1000bht a day prior to taking her, when I got to BKK I jumped in a taxi and left her standing at the airport, I knew she would not be likely to cause a scene there my loss was only 6000bht

...everytime I have taken a girl more than a few days, I pay her for the 1st night, then as time goes on, give her a little money for shopping, taxi's food etc. then give her a lump sum at the end.
I've never had a problem like this, and nor has the girl...

...no, no problems...the 3 B/G's i've spent time with (9 days) never once asked for money...and even when I offered it, they either refused, or if I insisted, they would always bring back the change, and when I told them to keep the change, they never did...!
Maybe it was because I paid for most things, but not always, we always had a good time together...i treated them well, and usually paid their barfines in advance, but not always...!
Sorry to hear it didn't work out as good for you...but there's always a next time...

Actully has a way to make it yoru fault that you found her calling her boyfriend or stealing your money what ever she does you have done something worse. For a new commer the experince that some one is telling you off with no remorse beucase they did something wrong can be a nasty experince. You have to take in mind that most newcommers hugg the holy planet book were it says that thais are honset and polite. They do not prepair them for ISAN RICE FARM CHICKS
Better good luck next time, and as long as you are a Tourist you are still king in Thailand. Its we long stay people they are after.

I think you handled it fairly well. Put it down to experience and move on as the other bros said. You are the one who has to live with yourself afterward - you could have behaved worse to her - but this one really is "up to you".
We have all picked a dud "girl of our dreams" at some stage. In my case the interesting part afterward was looking back at the photos of us together from the previous trip - without the stars in my eyes it was obvious to see that only one of us had any feelings for the other. We all want to believe the dream at some stage.
Wipe the last trip from the memory bank - keep the rest and move on. Enjoy.

Right on Minder, I sometimes look at a CD with pics of my first TG on it. Most of the smiles are not too deep and only mouth. Time gives a new perspective.
In the pics I'm the noob who is so-o-o-o out of his depth!
