Hate to admit, but I've helped the occasional Thai lady to write these emails too, or set up email accounts so they could continue the dialog on their own, lol! The BG's who asked me (I knew these ladies pretty well) really believed that they had found a good guy out of all the customers they'd bamboozled in the past and figured it was time to hang up the gogo boots. What was interesting was being asked to translate the responses back into Thai -- I passed that chore to my TGF. Mostly, the guys were sincere, and so were the ladies (or I wouldn't have bothered), but in the end, none of them scored for mostly the right reasons.

Is she a BG ? If she is, then most likely she lied. A gogo girl once emailed and told me she had a motorcycle accident outside the bar and she hurt her knee. I showed up at the gogo bar a few months later ( she didn't know I was coming again so soon), and I pointed to her knee and asked her " how are you ? your leg still hurt ?". She looked at me bewildered. I knew instantly someone wrote that email for her in hope of scoring some $$. Now I know some farang (even member on this board) actually volunteered to do such "scumback" shit to his fellow farangs and gloated on this board about "helping" some TG's doing scam like this. I am sorry, these "traitor" farangs are no better than the lying BG's ! And they have no shame boasting on this board. WTF, what a lowlife who milks other men who might have given money out of the goodness of their genuine concerns ! Lowlives !

It is possible she had an appendix operation.
But then again it is probable that she did not.
I would first want to see the Hospital Bill.
If she sends you one have it checked out by someone local.
It could be forged/copied/altered.
Tell her you need it to be able to pay it direct from your bank. Do NOT send her the cash!
If she refuses then it's a scam...
*Note:
I had a recent case where a TG altered a series of day visit hospital bills! She only went once! She scanned and emailed them to my client. It fooled him, but not me. I noticed irregularities in them and simply went to the hospital to verify their validity. They were forged.
It saved my client 30k+

Of course it's a scam. Jeez, if every thai girl who claims to have an appendix operation was, in fact, having an appendix operation, there would be no surgeons left in Thailand to fix the millions of motorcycle accidents that seem to affect the girls also.
And don't get me started on the pisspoor health of the nations buffalo stock. The Isaan countryside would scattered with mountains of buffalo corpses if their stories were true.
What makes me laugh is not how ingenious the girls are with their stories, but the opposite. It's how few stories there are, and how repetitively they recycle them. In order of preference, they seem to be:
1. Dead buffalos
2. Motorcycle accident
3. Brother has motorcycle accident
4. Grandpa defaults on farm mortgage, big man come take farm grandpa, big pobrem
5. Lost mobile phone
6. Brother in prison, sister need money baby food
7. Nana fall down well..need money rescue her
Got to say I agree with Manowar. It's a bit rich admitting to helping BGs deliberately defraud money out of naive soft-as-shit farangs. Where do your loyalties in the ongoing Farang Guy / Thai Girl guerilla war lay Balls?

Here's an idea - have TPE check out the girl and her story. If she checks out, TPE would also be qualified to make sure she gets adequate care in a good hospital. Kinda consider TPE and extension of yourself in a case like this.
Would seem like $$$ well-spent.

I wrote some time ago in a old thread about when I doubted my TGF one time when she said her son was ill...
I almost did not send her the money. Then weeks later when I saw her son's arm still red and infected. 
I was really glad I did help.
The moral of my story is...You never know!
So it's allways best to find out the truth.
