I don't know about Thai law, but in most countries that would be a civil offense, not a criminal offense. In other words, you would have to sue in civil court for failure to repay a loan. If you received a judgment in your favor, only then would you get the police involved to help collect the debt, such a garnishing of wages, or taking possession of her personal property to satisfy the judgment (not sure how Thai law works in this regard).
Most civilized countries did away with debtors prisons many years ago, because it was akin to slavery. But of course, there are gangs and mafia that are good at collecting debts. You would have to pay a large service charge for that, and you would be subject to criminal charges if you are caught employing such tactics.
Stealing money is a crime, but borrowing it and not paying it back is only a civil offense.

What were you thinking loaning money to a BG?? If I understand correctly she is also a freelancer.
Do not go to the police...the less interaction you have with them the better.
It is all part of the price we pay to learn the ropes of LOS.

I think that by far the best suggestion is to come to some arrangement whereby she repays you in kind, preferably whilst lying on her back. She appears to be good at lying.
As a rule of thumb, a loan to girls like this is generally construed by them to be a gift.

Thanks for your views and opinions. I've been in Thailand for 2 years and as a rule don't get involved with TGs - only p4p basis with no further involvement. In this case she does actually have a day job, showed me company brochures & docs with her name on and so on so she looked quite okay to start with.
I basically caught her out (I saw her out cruising for guys when she told me she was working) just after I lent her the money. Of course she said she didn't have it to pay back. Thats when I emptied her handbag and took all her bank cards & Id. I figured I'd be skating on thin ice if I went to police so haven't bothered. All I can do now is hope that its all been a major inconvenience for her, but I'm sure she can replace the cards easy enough.
I've put it down to a lesson learnt and an expensive leg-over. I'm also still amazed at how easily these girls can do this sort of thing - they have no conscience whatsover - maybe its a cultural thing to blatantly lie in this way. Anyway, I'm sure I'm not the first nor the last to have this kind of problem. I'm just angry with myself and my own stupidity more than anything.
Oh well, life goes on....and plenty more girls to shag. Next !!

not a cultural thing; its a ho thing. Just happens that for the most part boards like this are about hos! Be careful not to poison yourself and turn out like the countless cynics on these sorts of boards convinced that they are great guys and that all the Thai people are out to "get them" - if you ever think you are going that way, leave and don't look back! Life's too short to be a retard like the private dancer loser guy in the book.
If you have a written contract or evidence from several reliable sources of the loan, then you could go to civil court here the same as anywhere and take a civil action to claim the money back.
Obviously, this is going to be a waste of your time, and she probably has no assets, and I am betting a lot of $$$ that you don't have a written signed witnessed contract with her 
So... without that, going to the police is going to do nothing, and in fact you are currently guilty of theft, which is a criminal rather than civil offense - if she wanted to, if you were caught with her ID, that would be fairly strong evidence against you - stealing=Thai jail=bad food+ being bummed/bumming others=not fun!
I'd chalk it up to experience, you can try ringing and apologising, then after saying sorry, try to explain that the reason you were upset is because you care so much about her and so on - you might get to sleep with her one more time; then of course act all shy and give back her cards and stuff and say you feel so stupid. Then after she leaves (if you get the chance try to get any money she has by asking her to buy some beer or condoms or anything on the way to your place), don't ever call her again, and everyone ends up somewhat happy.
Or you do all the apology bit, then let her invite you for dinner, then explain upfront you are broke and she'll end up having to be stuck with the bill.
All pretty petty stuff; easier to chalk it up to experience. That would be the best idea. You are messing with a hooker, and some hookers have some pretty nasty friends; anything more than this - confrontation etc won't work at all; the key in Thailand is to appear to be all nice and keep everything happy happy.

How long do you know this girl? If you know this girl for a long time than just consider that you donated your money to a fiend in need and forget about it.
