Excellent point bigDUSA. I agree that sometimes its better to avoid freelancers as a long companion whenever possible.
Jetrin2002, you will feel a bit more safe hiring a TG from a GG-bar or a club as you can come back and look for her if something goes wrong. Very unlikely in Thailand with the TGs if you behave good but, shit happens sometimes....Ah! and consider the tips of ABC and Dave. Those were good ones guys. The thing is that the TG you would like to be with for a long time will depend entirely on your budget and, of course, on your personal agreement. Look for the one you can CLICK with....

Agree 100% with BigDUSA except I'd skip the credit cards, or use only lower-limit ones, in order to avoid the same experiences BiDUSA just had with fraudulent charges on his cards.
T-checks absolutely. Amex is the best. Cash as needed and if they get stolen, you get a fast refund, Amex has a large Bangkok office on Paholyothin Road.
If you have chosen the girl well, why worry about her? Relax and enjoy.
BTW there are plenty of girls on Samui and in Surat Thani so why import one from Bkk? Prices will be lower than in Bkk. You wouldn't have transportation costs to/from and the local girl would be better at finding you the right places to eat, etc.
ATM is OK but if moving cash in from abroad by ATM don't the fees get a little stiff?

Must admit, the title got me a bit too, but what would you call it..
"Hiring a hooker" might work.
I have had very good success over the years with freelancers. From Thermae, BierGarten on 7 and Grace (more so in the olden days) .. they are free to stay with you for a while with out all the hassle with barfines, etc. They don't have to run off to work if the afternoon nap turns into more.
I always keep the amount of cash on hand low. ATMs work very well for me, but when I used to stay in hotels I kept excess cash in the security box.

Excellent question JJ. I might even use that term in a light way with a freind who knew my true nature. I think more likely I would say "Hiring A Girl" or maybe even "Hiring an Escort" - don't anybody shout at me but I don't even find "Hiring A Hooker" as offensive. Let me explain.
I'm not one of those who is quite so sensitive about the nouns-what we call them. I don't want to hear any curse words or "whore" "slut" EVER (well unless me and the girl are getting a kink on), but to call them Working Girls, Prostitutes - doesn't bother me. I know full well that the terms as defined in the west don't apply-but for purposes of discussion I don't mind SOME labels.
But "renting" is something that is done with objects. Things. Need I say more?

All the free advice given here I would agree with as far as the prices/expences ect... I will have to say there's nothing wrong in my opinion to rent a girl. That's exactly what you do when you bar fine them. So maby not for a freelancer but other than that it works. ps02 never said anything derogatory in his question about doing that, so whats the big deal?
