Prices in Pattaya:
As Thunder368 said, the going rate for LT is 1000 Baht for beer bar girls and 1500 Baht for gogo girls. Some stunners and superstars from gogos want more but you can negotiate them down which is no problem, because in Pattaya there are girls girls girls as far as the eye can reach. A buyer’s market.
Now some theses:
1. There have never been more girls in the bar scenery then these days.
In the last 13 years I have been 17 times in the LOS. In my opinion and in my experience the number of girls working in the bar scenery has never been larger than today.
2. The bars are full of beautiful girls.
The discussions on various boards and lists about the question: “Where are all the stunners gone”, which we had during the last two years are all bullshit. I have never seen in the venues in Bkk (Nana, Soi Cowboy, Biergarten etc …) and in Pattaya more girls and many of them are very beautiful. Open your eyes! So these discussions are superfluous, useless. They are completely unfounded.
3. The girls are cheaper then ever.
In Pattaya the going rate for a pretty beer bar girl is 1000 Baht LT. And when you stay with her some days longer then you can have her for 800 Baht. An example: You want to stay with one girl one week. You negotiate with her: I don’t want to pay more than 1000 Baht for you. I pay the bar for you for 7 days 200 Baht each day and for you each day 800 Baht. And the most girls are satisfied with this. (That is something I personally would never do; I am not a cheap Charly; it is only an example.) For one Euro I got between 48 – 50 Baht and even more! A nice little sum of money.

Some ideas about what you call "higher class places" (Baquawn) and "topclass girls" (James Velvet).
Well, indeed, there are some high class places like some of the Japanese bars in Soi Thaniya Silom Road or some of the painter bars in Soi 33 can be called high class places.
Top class places means much much higher prices. For what?
And what does "topclass girls" mean? The only difference maybe that girls you can find in high class places are a little bit more educated and better and more tasteful dressed than the normal Thai girl you can find in the places of lower Sukumvhit. But I think these are the only differences. Normally the girls in those places you call "higher class places" are not better looking than in the gogos of NEP or soi Cowboy.
The only matter is: they want more money! That is all!

When I pay more than agreed (overpay) it mostly happens after the service has been fulfilled. So e.g a Voodoo girl from NEP gave me absolutely outstanding service. I asked her how much and she replied "We agreed on 1500 but maybe you can make it two zero zero zero." Of course I can!! Exceptional service deserves additional payment. We went out then for drinking and had lots of fun (i.e. she went drinking with me instead of going back to her bar which usually would be the case after ST).
The other option is when I must have a stunning girl and thus be prepared to knowingly overpay. Usually (not always) then its the other way round, i.e. the service does not really deserve the agreed price. But a deal is a deal.
I don't pay according to what others pay but to what I feel is adequate and what I consider to be appropriate for her efforts, with the going ST/LT rate agreed upon earlier being the basis.
I am not too much inclined to beat down the price if I don't like the amount initially quoted, as I assume that then the service might deteriorate accordingly.
But as I usually have a bit of a chitchat to assess the girl's anticipation and attitude and as I do speak a bit of Thai most girls don't quote excessive prices to me, so this is actually not too often the case.
As for gogos, in Nana, SC, Patpong I have always been quoted between 1500 and 2500 Baht for LT. In Pattaya this will be 1000 ST and 2000 LT (Supergirl / -baby 2500 LT).

That's pretty much my M.O. and my experinece, too, unless the lady has been coached by another lady to spit out a high figure. In that latter case, a bit of joking and chit chat often get the price sorted accordingly. But if the number is too high to begin with, I just tell 'em they are too expensive for a cheap charlie like me, then I do a little cryin' about my budget lol! Some of the ladies take this bait, most don't, and I move on.

Funny that I never mentioned Soi 33 bars as Higher Class places. I was refering to FL's that you find out at Normal Higher Class clubs ie. Bed, Qbar, etc, etc.
Personally I am more interested in where I can go out and enjoy friends, and drinking. Girls can be found everywhere in BKK. If they happen to be where I like to party, even better.
Since you seem to be a Pattaya expert, I don't expect you to know much in BKK outside NEP, SC, Patpong.

Instead of exchanging further arguments I tell a little story by way of illustration.
