Whether you have a sexual insecurity problem or a male sensitivity that necessitates you calling those you fraternize with prostitutes and whores or you choose to call them wives or working girls, is really a description of the amount of generosity and respect that you usually show to others.
What some people who have commented here seem to forget is that brother Lofty is just not drifting into any bar and keeping the promise to the lady or not.
It appears to be his favourite bar.
He seems to have spent some time in there.
I understand that he wishes to continue this close association with the bar and maybe even focus his sexual attention on other ladies who populate the place.
So we are not talking about how that particular lady will meet with a broken promise or how he is to fulfil the expectation given. That is not the real concern here.
It is about his reputation and how he wishes to be seen and known in the bar.
So it is up to him as to what he does.
But he must live by that.
The indication is that he doesn't want to take her to Phuket after all.
Well, if it is such a favourite bar that he doesn't want to break with and he wishes still to be known as believeable and Mr.Nice Guy,, then two days should suffice, and possibly with koolbreeze's generous suggestion of the other lady also brought along for company would sweeten the lesson to be learned of making no promises even after the ninth bottle of Tiger.
If a guy can't do that, then he has to consider going to the bar to suck orange-juice through a straw all evening.
There are other things in the human spirit such as honour and code, duty and respect, reciprosity and dignity and what you have of them, has nothing whatsoever to do with the people who are around you.
It is all up to you.
What you are and what you choose to be to others should not be determined by your perception of them, whether you consider them the highest or the lowest in the land.
What you are to others is up to you.
Too many people point to others as the excuse or the reason or cause for themselves being shit-headed imbiciles.
There is such a thing as responsibility and with the concerns of what you do and what you are in your life, bad as well as good, the buck should stop at you.

I do think Lofty was concerned about his reputation there in his favorite hangout. There's nothing wrong with that, no matter how many guys disappoint her regularly, or how much his favorite has done it herself. He's got his face and doesn't want to lose points. I don't think he should get too worked up about it though. In this case, I would hope an excuse and some other little reward or tip will make things all better again soon. It is a good lesson though, for all the reasons J.Wood implied.
As for those that saw the immediate opportunity to put things in perspective via using names that our Judeo-Christian upbringing teaches us to use in order to describe sinners as lower in life than the righteous... Some questions come to mind.
Is it true that the only way the big macho sexual supermen of the world can maintain their peak is by constantly putting the women they f*** in their place... a low place beneath their feet? The Bible has supplied us with so much good vocabulary for this purpose. I learned it in Sunday School when I was very small. I liked Sunday School, and I liked sweets.
One day Mommy took away the lollipop too soon. But Babyman is big now and he will show her. He'll use some rough language and prove how smart he is about this self-interested lollipop service. In fact he'll prove he's not a Newbie to be toyed with by utilizing this expert namecalling. He is very unlike the starry eyed Babyman that cried over a lollipop pulled away and given to some other boy. That other boy was so strong and smart. Babyman would like to be strong and smart. He can XRAY vision see opportunities to keep reminding us that he's better than those lollipop fake Mommies.
And then the next thing I was wondering is, what does Babyman call the 7/11 girls when he can't pay for what he wants with his good looks? Some of them even have lives of their own. They must be whoreslaves too. Now I'm thinking about all the service industries in the world. I bet Babyman has lots of rough names for all of them. He is now so strong and smart.

p4p, pay bar for her friend and meet her in the ST place (dont leave togeather) easily done.
Last trip I had a waitress upstairs in NP after the second and last time I bf her she start talking we go for beach trip togeather (the other gals told her thats what to do -she was new obviously learning the ropes as they say).

I have to disagree with that.
Since when is the word "Prostitute" a disrespectful word?
Prostitution describes the act of sexual intercourse in exchange for money. However, its definition may be extended loosely to include any sexual act for any type of compensation
there is absolutely nothing wrong with these words in and of themselves.
it's the context that counts, it's the user, it's the intention behind the words that makes them good or bad, the words are completely neutral.
you can't be affraid of words that speak the truth, even if it's an unpleasant truth. you prefer to use words that "hide" the truth? that conceal reality?
for example: It makes me smile when I hear the word "working girls".... aren't 99% of women on this Planet "Working girls"? isn't a working girl an employed person of the feminine sex? No matter what industry?
As far as I am concerned, there are no other words than "prostitution" to qualify the type of work these ladies are engaged in, but does it mean that because I think this way I am a disrespectful person towards those same ladies? No so.
You can use any euphemism you want, you can even call the ladies "Bar Angels"... it is not going to make their "work" any easier.
As for the original question, even if this is your favoutite bar, don't worry about turning her down... you'll still be Mr nice guy as long as you go there and buy drinks and barfines
