Have often done the shopping trip especially if have had the lady in question for a few days and time is nearing an end for her. I agree with the 2000-4000 figure, have never spent more than that, unless it was for GF and gold. Most of the girls are definitely happy when you spend anything on them, so no need to spend more.
I also do not penalize their rate the shopping is a treat. They love it.
Treat them with respect and you will be respected in turn.

had a freebie once and went shopping with her the next day. brought her everything from top to bottom! undergarments, comestic, shoes, jeans, blouse, t-shirts and toileties!! total damage B4500.
fair amount spent, but the shopping part really killed me, it was like a 6 hours thing.....

Chrisboy's "freebie" reminds me of a date I had with a Thai bartender in Frankfurt. We went for lunch and then she wanted to go shopping. I played along for a bit but eventually got pissed off and just took her home. Never even got any play out of that one. As far as I know she was never a pro but has (at least) one sister who is. Must've passed along the tricks of the trade.

I am basically of the belief that there is no such thing as a "freebie". Each and every time I have supposedly had a "freebie" in Thailand it has cost more in either money or aggravation than if I had just closed the deal and paid 1500 baht or so in the morning.
In life, almost nothing is really free. Better to seal the transaction and start again with a clean slate whenever I so chose.

Something like that....
When I am in the Kingdom I like to have my freedom. I find that if I make sure to pay something each day both parties involved (me and whatever girl I am with) know we can go our own way after each evening and no one is owed anything.
I have had far too many experiences with girls saying they didn't want any money because they just wanna be with me. Even had situations where girls have acted insulted or cried when I tried to pay them. But I still always find a way to give them something. I find that if the girl leaves without payment it really usually means they expect me to come back to them. Sometimes I do, and sometimes I don't - but I don't want to feel like I have to see them again if I don't want to. And I definately DON'T want ladies around stewing over me and thinking I somehow cheated them.
Enough trips to LOS with more than a few hurt feelings later has taught me to never make promises I can't keep and always pay the girl a reasonable fee after each day or night.
But probably others have better luck.

I sort of agree to Holy Diver's statement, have to say as the other bros. have said. Buying them things is a treat that foregoes the b/f & daily/weekly fees. personaly i've never had one that demanded that of me. I'm usauly going to do some shoping anyway, and if i'm with a TG/BG whatever, i'll take her along for the ride. They dont ask me for anything so I just if you see something want just get it. Sometimes I tell them you have to haggle for to get a good deal. Really it's just a fun treat for myself to take them shoping. leting them load a cart in foodland is the most rewarding thing i've experienced while shoping with them. I suggest you try that one for sure. It's heart melting feeling with that look on their face that they give you. Also go with them to take it back to their apartment, now theres were some real rewards come back to you. All in all you have to do what makes you feel right, but taking them shoping is not a prerequisite. So if you take them shoping try not to think of as such.

That reminds me one reason I don't like to take them shopping with me: I always seem to have to pay more. When I'm solo and can speak some Thai they give in easier. When I'm with a TG and I haggle they stick at a higher price. I think that they assume that you'll give in and the girl will get what she wants. My preferred method to buy the girl something is just to give her money and send her shopping, preferrably while I join the boys for a cold one!

bottom line probably is, if she is the genuine TGF, sure, she will love you to take her shopping, if she is a BG, she probably sooner have the money, so she can go home, shout her mates some somtum, and have a decent sleep !
