Now... i got a girlfriend from thailand (straight girl) and if i want 2 marry her ,which i dont ,but in the end have to, then i have to pay a "dowry" , this is the way to do it thailand..no prob, lucky for me is her dad is about to check out anyway, so maybe i'll get her for free, she ´dont want me 2 pay ofcuz, and i think he will hand me back the money( he dont need them) but u have to do.

well i do not know how exactly how to pen this but well on my recent trip my TG told me that she has been ask to marry a farang from Germany and if she accepts that would in a years time.
she is currently working as those 5k girls as she has stopped from this line but does it once in a while for the extra cash. she dare not tell me anything but somehow she got the courage to do so and not to say that i was angry to hear such a story from her but more like confused.
i met her more than a year ago and that she liked me. she was being frank with me and that she said she was actually registered to some guy in HK and that they are so-called divorced already. then there was another guy in singapore in which wanted to marry her but she turned him down as little did i know she was waiting for me and later on she did say that she wanted to marry me.
i told her the truth and that i can't as i am working on my plans and if i were to think on marriage it would be in about 5 years time. i told her she better not wait for me and thus carry on on finding someone else as i felt it will not be fair for her to wait and what if i changed my mind later on? she understood this.
up to now she is still waiting for me and well i know myself in this position now i will not be able to help her out and i was told before on what Bandit has mentioned...paying for her and additional cost in which you may never know until that time. in which i was told also by my thai friend that people like who comes from her background its hard as she is the one supporting thus if i do marry her i would be supporting her family as well...and the cycle of money will be never ending.
what i would really want is to see her getting out of this line and having a good life with someone who can take care of her. right as of now i know i am unable to do that but she is waiting for me and i am thinking of stopping it all. i feel that the other guy would be able to help her out more but one thing she knows would be cultural differences. infact when i she told me, i told her i am not rich like the other guy and she nodded but she said as long as i love her she is happy but would that be coming from a 'sales' point of view? i am not sure as to make or break the situation...any sound advice? i like her and i wish i could be in a situation to help her but i know i can't. one advise given is to be supportive of her decision if she choose to marry the German guy and be her close friend and someone whom she knows can be trusted and someone whom she is comfortable confiding in, be there for her through the her hard times.
this may make no sense but i hope it does as i am just letting it out at high speed...

- from my point of view ... and have seen it from all,angles, reasons for the break up with a TG normally center round 2 words, LYING + MONEY .... - sure their are always exceptions, I also had a couple of other reasons myself, Family pressure on the TG, and also a very sweet little Straight TG I lusted after years ago who was basically figid ! [ a rarity here !! ] - the one consoling factor, is that, probably from there point of view as well as ours, in LOS, there are plenty more fish in the sea ... - and Delta, for example, know you offer very worthy sentiments, but remember, this is LOS, no need to play the understanding, big brother figure, - just get out and find another TG you can do your thing with, or in fact, allowing for the lack of tourists about for this time of the year, and the big increase in the number of freelancers around, you really dont have to look, just wander out from your hotel /Apartment and im sure they [TGs] will find you !

Less tourists this year than last? FWIW many cheap airfares from the US to LOS and plenty of availability I guess LOS did not get the tourism boost they thought they would get from the Bali bombing.

Maybe all the Tourists are at Samui or Phuket - but I just dont think near as many in Bangkok, as Normal for Xmas/New year .... and well done with the security guard BigD, I usually tip the 500 to get my info 555 - Delta - not quite sure what you meant, you mean a "straight" TG ... I think breaking up is pretty much for the same reasons, no matter what class of society they are from, - also bear in mind, again in my experience anyway, TGs LOVE drama !! They like to live soap operas I think, AIS/TOT or whatever local phone company you use, must be ecstatic at the hours TGs spend on the phone relaying the latest drama with the boyfriend to various parties ...

yes, straight working thai girls...a friend of mine is interested in one after meeting her at Brit 99 and she is working in an international finance company. she is sweet but he has doubts and would like to know more if he should or should not. as for me i am like sitting in between two (one FL and one straight girl) and wondering what the heck i got myself into...*chuckles*

come on Delta think straight!... tourist like us tend to attract unwanted attentions, TG. In general, decent TG are not really interested in foreigners. However I wonder how abt other asians? Because I feel that my culture is not that much different, when it comes to the normal guy/gal on the street, leading a middle-class life... ? ANy comments.
