Hey thanks for all your thoughts... I appreciate all of your knowledgable opinions. You guys have definitely confirmed what I suspected and I agree that a lot of the characteristics that a TBG is looking for are the same things that any other woman in any other culture would seek.
Like any newbie who goes out to enjoy the nightlife of Bangkok, I would hope to find the hottest, sexiest and most stunning companion for the evening. And it is obviously far more rewarding to have that lady be likewise genuinely physically attracted to me as well. Because we all know how much physical chemistry can contribute to bedroom activities. 
So with respect to TGs, should I think it to be advantageous to appear to be an upperclass Thai male (by way of dress) but with the dispostion and attitude of a foreigner? Would it be conceited to think this would make one in similar circumstance more desirable to a working TG? I ask this only in the context of the initial meeting, when one arrives on the scene, starts flirting, and looks for that first click of chemistry. I realize that after a while the point becomes mute, because then so many more factors come into play that affect whether or not she would go with me.
I think, on any given night, I spend a great deal of time looking for the "one". Because I have to overcome the initial first impression of being a Thai male, I'm just curiously interested hypothetically in finding ways to increase my chances with those ever so desirable "stunners" who would otherwise not give a Thai male a second glance. Thoughts?

my first impression is that you'll have a better time in the massage parlours on Ratchada and Rama IX. Very welcoming to Asians and of course Thais.
Dressing well is a plus. Just remember that clothes don't "make the man" as much as it does in the west. I remember the first time I went to an MP years ago. I didn't know how to dress. I asked my friends and they just said "wear whatever, just bring your wallet." If you have a nice watch (like a Rolex, Omega, or Breitling), that's a plus. BGs have this fixation that all upper middle class drive Benz and live in big houses... I assume you won't be getting those latter two just for your holiday.
That said... I would think that most BGs can spot a foreigner a mile away. (even a foreign Thai looking Asian). I've been here for years but just about everyone I meet will guess before I say anything that I'm imported.
Be yourself and have fun. If the BG scene isn't happening, head over to the more Asiatic scene.

IMHO - "NO" BGs were attracted to thai guys, but the majority have been badly burnt, OK, that will happen to them with farangs as well, but at least the farang has usually paid along the way ! Also, again remember the very dominant class system here, if a BG did snare a rich, young, handsome Thai guy, - the odds are his family would tell him to keep her as a "mia noi" - but no way would they let him marry a low class Isarn BG ! - therefore her only hope is the local TukTuk driver ... and the novelty of having a young decent looking Thai guy in hand, soon wears off when he has no money to buy you anything ! Sure, the Thai Guy is an alternative, and one they may often end up with, - perhaps I would say in my experience, BGs would be keen on a Thai guy when they are 16-19 .... from 20-30 realise the advantages of a farang, as perhaps the only way to raise their, [ and their families] financial status, from 30+ about given up on finding a farang, or hanging on to one, and possibly revert to an old flame from the village -

In my opinion. I agree on the quote that all TGs we usually meet say Thai man is no good. When I was working in the Phils it was the same regarding the Filipino man. No need to add that the TGs we easily and usually meet are coming from a poorer region and through to this have had their mostly bad experiences with Thai men. I have heard many stories about boyfriends and husbands. Many of the TGs decided to get pregnant early, believed in the promises of the Thai men or simply chose to get pregant to bind this man to them and hoped for a secured future. This is how their misery starts and we should all be happy as there seems to be a neverending source of BGs! 555...!

But thai's like light skin. And they seems to dislike dark skin. Doesn't that mean that farangs with light skin are considered as very attractive?
Some thai girls I have spoken with say that they like men with light skin and they have said that my light skin is considered as beuatiful in Thailand. Are they just talking or does they mean it?

Sure ... light skin is a Bonus - but as P'rip points out, - maybe in another post, Farangs place in the local society locally is probably only just above BGs from Issarn ! - I for one do not blame them for an instant, but I think [ apart from ST/LT] if a BG is going to consider a serious relationship with a Guy, 95% of the time his financial state will be foremost in her mind, not his skin colour ! If you are polite, pay your dues, you will have little trouble getting hold of any particular BG that takes your fancy, regardless of Skin colour - although I guess some [ but not all ] afro Americans may have a different outlook - Certainly Singaporeans & Malaysians, for example, are well liked by most local TGs

I didn't say that I believed it's a falang's place (class status being just above bargirl). And I don't know what post we're talking about anyway. But yes, falangs (OR ANYONE) who cannot own property, can't stay here with any permanent stability, and anyone without family backing is in a relatively weak position in the LOS. Naturally there are exceptions to this.

Lots of good info but it's a tempest in teapot. Are you here as a short time vacationer or as someone moving to LOS. If your short term the color of your money is all the average b/g is interesed in.

I have a "good" TG friend and she has just been working away from home for the first time. Even though she has only been away from her family for a few weeks she's always complaining she's lonely and crying over it. I agree, these people are not meant to be alone. I think its just another aspect of them being so sensitive at the end of the day.
On the other point of the classic "Thai man no good" line, I have to say I'm sick and tired of hearing that one. Its so predictable yet always delivered with sense that we've never heard it before. As much as I do love the Thai people and of course the girlies, they are incredibly predictable at times.

P'Rip ... no offence at all, just also agreeing, that if for example, you asked an affluent Thai, to place in "social order" shall we say, a list including - Rich thai/chinese, Local Police, Army, Blue collar Thais, BGs, Farangs, Indians etc ... it would probably be in that sort of order !
