Yes, but most BGs in Thailand are actually TGs. I don't think there was anything in this thread that was derogatory to Thai girls, in general. The observations may not be true, but they are fair opinions.

I don't think anyone is diminishing Kman's ordeal by saying that it is indeed part of the process. It's one generalization that holds pretty true: it DOES happen to everybody at least once. Though I would only differ with PR by saying after a certain amount of time here, it should become increasingly unlikely -- or else you are either a very slow learner or a glutton for punishment.
May I kindly suggest the extreme swings from one extreme to the other are not a good sign? You started out by saying you would NEVER fal for a BG or TG. (1st mistake). Then you -- very quickly -- decided it had happened to you and everything was OK (2nd mistake). Now, though it's anunderstandable reaction, you declare NEVER again and all TGs are are going to be bad news (3rd).
Do you remember what I said before you came (and which soem others agreed with)? Rigid thinkers will be destroyed by this place Ý-- or at least severely damaged -- and will often wind up bitter and almost perpetually disatisfied. You MUST learn to go with the flow, roll w/ punches and ALWAYS be ready for the curve ball. (How's that for mixing metaphors?)
At best this experience can be a humbling one (which is sometimes needed  ) and educational. At worst it can poison every interaction you have from here on out.
You choose.

Am I missing something here?
I realize, I'm older (56) then most of the guys on this board. Guys will meet a working girl with all that entails and with one month into the relationship if you can call it a relationship falls in love with a stranger (I've done the same) and starts to go thru her purse and wallet checking her cell phone records. A quick aside, we have 30 pages of protecting a BG privicy and here a guy going thru her purse. How would you fell if you woke up and she's going thru your wallet? Can we assume the guy is going for every s/t, l/t he can grab and is he lieing to her when he tell's her, he's going to a temple with his buds? Are you guys being honest with yourselfs in what your doing and what your looking for? I don't think so.
If I was seeing the girl for a year, I could understand looking thru her purse and cell phone to see if she was real. But if I had to do this, I would DROP her before I LOOKED as I didn't TRUST her. 6 days but whose counting.

What really intrigues me is - what magic do the B.G's spin that makes us all believe that we have finally found our true love ?
Most of the girls we talk about in this Forum are either workers in the entertainment industry or free-lancers looking to make money . In both cases the operating word is MONEY .
By nature of their work we know that most of them have had sex with "n" number of men and have probably had short term relationships with with a fair number of guys - all with the sole purpose of making money .
Yet we , many a time , fall for their wiles and think that they truly love us and that we are the only men in their lives . Sure , there will be the exceptional cases so I do not want to appear totally cynical - but seriously guys when a Cashier at a K-Mart back home smiles at you and says "Have a good day" do you think that she really means it or even cares a damn ?

Arramsey - All you say is very true and I can not argue against it. But as to the question of "what magic".
I don't think it is magic, or even so much as a case of anything the women themselves do, other than treat whomever they are with like a king.
Consider this, guys will say, "she is different". Maybe she is, maybe she's not and I don't want to get into percentages here but could it actually be guys thinking that they themselves are different?
I think it safe to say that one can do the right thing for the right reason as well as do the right thing for the wrong reason. Could it be just that a guy gets the feeling that the particular woman is doing the right thing for the right reason when he may actually be nothing more than one more in her career?
I know a number of Thai women that have Farangs fall in love with them and the women are totally thrown for a loop as to why the guy has fallen in love with her.
A wierd twist on things, but then again I am wierd, I had nagging thoughts in the back of my mind about my girlfriend and I didn't completely banish them until she stopped treating me like my shit didn't stink and let me down off my pedastel.

PS. I didn't only ahve nagging doubts about a relationship with a Thai woman but have had them with virtually every other woman, be they US, Japanese, Korean, Pilippina, Romanian, German, French, Itallian and Russian. If you guys knew what I looked like, you would understand my doubts, I make a mud fence look interesting and exotic!

There will be 2 kinds of guys reading this.
The ones that live here and the ones that come for a holiday.
For those that live here there is no reason to fall in love with a bar girl. There are a number of normal girls out there you just have to look.
And be realistic If you are 55 years old and dont look like Charlton Hestern or whoever then dont give your heart to a 22 year old.
Think about it.
The economuic difference between most Thai's and westerners is large. Therefore evewryone in a relationship with a Thai must be careful.
However if there is a big gap in age and looks then it becomes even more unlikely the relationship is for real.
The other night I was in a beer bar in Nana talking to 2 guys I had just met.
Both were giving me hard luck stories.
One guy buy his own admission was rich. He was late 40's and still in shape.
He was telling me about falling in love with a dentist girl who took him for 300 000 baht.
And he was still in contact with this girl??
Next thing a bar girl starts talking to him.
He buys her a drink and asks if she would like to go on holiday with him and maybee move in?
2 mins earlier we were telling him to calm dowm falling for girls.
After she finished her drink she went and sat with another customer to get another lady drink.
As for the tourists
Granted you wont have time to get to know non working girls so just have fun and see things for what they are.
