Hitman makes a valid point. In Pattaya I used to regularly go to a certain restaruant (good food and the owner was a hot Thai chick I was seducing  ) and the owner's niece was this incredibly charming, clever, ad precocious 5 year old. She took a real liking to me (I'm quite good w/kids...no snide comments please) and we always spent time chatting together.
One time when I came in she marched up, sat down on my lap, and reached back to take my hands and bring my arms around her waist. I became aware of someone looking at me and I looked over to see a falang glaring at me disgustedly...
It probably didn't help that we were within a short distance of an area notorious for Pedophile activity.

I man I know was arrested when 2 old ladies called the police and reported a possible incest. The man was at the beach playing with his little doughter. he was handcuffed and brought to the arrest. It took him several hours to clear out the situation. This was offcorse very traumatic for him and his relation to his doughter has changed afther that. The right thing to do would be to face the man and ask him straight out.

I have only one question : What does this mean??????
It is a fact that there are thousands of expats living in LOS. It is a fact that most of them have a wife/GF (or more than one). It is a fact that many girls from the industry have children. It is safe to asume that most expats are not eunuch or sterile.
So to make my point : How can I see if it is a paedophile walking on the street or a responsible man taking care of a child (his own or not)?
And because most expats look like dirty old men, I can not say I would recognize a paedophile any better than a girl dressed in "unmistakable terms."
So unless he starts shagging the girl in the middle of the street (which I don't think I will see in the near future) how do I know I'm not sending the police to one of the regulars (and presumed innocent) of this forum. I have never had any contact with the boys in brown, but I have heard that it is a lot easier getting in to the police station than out.

Years ago while living in the USA read about a case where a guy was arrested for taking pictures of a young child naked (if I remember well the child was about 4yrs old).
The police got the call from the photo-lab as in that state (I do not remember which) the law requires them to call if they see pictures of naked children.
The guy was arrested and went to trial. During the ordeal he was not allowed to get close to his children and visitation was supervised by someone from social services, even though the mother and the children opposed and were on the guy's side.
Well, it happens that the guy was studing photography at the local University and had to submit a course project. The pictures were black and white playing with different lightning conditions. The artsy kindda of picture. At the end he was found innocent, but by then every one in the family was traumatised. ÝThe children could not understand why they couldnt see their father(how do you explaining it to them?)
This makes me wonder, could I get in trouble for having with me pictures of a naked child? even if those are pictures of myself as 5 month baby being bathed by my mother?
Edited to add this comment; I remember that they were an inmigrant family (I think from SEA, but not sure of this), making the whole thing more confusing to them -they could not really understand what the whole thing was about.

Most expats look like dirty old men?....thanks for that....Of the 40 or so I know and do business with....only a few are over 40...all the one's married with Thai childen are under that age.
Having said that you make a very valid point and doubtless when the children are a bit older it'll be stares all round...sad really that society has to be that way

I hope I would go for number 3, but like has already been said; it would not do any good.
However, I have been caught (although totally innocent !!!!) in a similar situation which was very embarrassing.
I was in Pattaya a few years ago with the family. The wife (she who must be obeyed!) and daughter went shopping leaving myself and my 9 year old son to have a few drinks in a ìmusic barî, after my son had a few cokes he needed the toilets which was at the back of the crowded bar. Being a bit cautious, I took him to the toilet and waited for him outside. With that a TG approached me and asked what was I doing hanging around outside the Toilet? Not thinking and after a few beers I replied ìwaiting for my boy!î, Which in turn resulted in a quite a commotion from all the TG in ear shot ìWe do not allow that sort of thing in hereî, ìLeave nowî, etc, 
Nothing I could say could recover the situation and most of the bar was now focused on the row going on outside the toilets, and I course I was not going to leave with my son in the toilet. When my son walked out and everyone could clearly see he was European and I was the farther, and then the row turned round to smiles, laughter and a free beer and a coke for my son. 
At the time I was angry for being accused and judged but in hindsight I was stupid, and I respect the bar and TGís for controlling what is going on.

My daughter will be 12 when I am 45. ÝShe is quite pretty. ÝI am not so blessed. ÝShe favors her mother. ÝWe are quite affection (as I am with my son as well). ÝI'd hate to think that this would get me dirty looks, much less arrested.
Because of things like that, I think that I would only address this situation if I saw obvious, sexual conduct, or something very close, and in an area where children shouldn't be, like a gogo or beer bar. ÝMy "local" in BKK had a new waitress who was 15. ÝThis didn't bother me at first since at this bar there was no (at least blatant) P4P. ÝSome of the girls would occassionally go out for a good time with a customer, but AFAIK sex was reserved for their boyfriends*. ÝThe 15 y.o. was quite homely, as well. ÝAfter a while she started to fill out a little bit, and I noticed her flirting with some of the guys. ÝTo her this was probably part of the growing up/maturation process. ÝThen I saw her head out with a customer or two. ÝI don't know what happened when they went out. ÝBut I did let her older sister, who works in a nearby hair salon, know that her baby sister was dating. Ý Apparently she caught hell for it, and I got some evil looks from the younger girl next few times I was in.
I didn't know or even really see for a long time any of the guys she was flirting with/dating. ÝBut from what I saw they all seemed older, eg, 50+. ÝIf I'd had the chance I would have asked them if they knew she was only 15. ÝI wonder if, as we get older, it gets harder to differentiate the 15-18 year olds from the 18-25 year olds. ÝThis is another reason that I aim to stick to 25+, just to give me that margin for error.
