take from the bar, it is safer. some look pretty young, but if I ask the owner/manager they usually confirm that she is of legal age. so you can always have him take or share the blame if worse comes to worse.
put they have younger girls. you know of the recent places in nana that are facing closures, a new one has just been added last week, R 3 for having a 19 year old.
don't take from the street, especially if you are intoxicated. had a friend 3 weeks ago doing that (outside nana, I guess, he does not remember), so that was him next morning, groggy, minus 2 mobiles, d-camera and a wad of cash. and he was a BIG guy...

What is happening to Bangkok?
Or what kind of people do this happen to?
This never used to be a problem yust few years ago.
On my 50+ trips to Bangkok it has never happend and I do get drunk plenty of times. I have laptops and mobiles in my room + always plenty of cash. As far as I know I have never lost 1 baht.

As per the experiences with young Thai women....better avoid them. The chances to get a hard time with a young freelancer is high. There are hundreds of places where you can find the girl of your dreams....keep in mind that this is LOS. Don't expose yourself to a scam....there is nothing worst than spoiling your holidays in Thailand....

Think I'll give my 2 cents here,
I have to agree with Sauron on the ID card scam. Seen a girl the other day at BG7 sitting near the entrance. She looked very young. I went over and asked how old she was.........22 was the answer. I asked for ID............forgot it in room. None of the other girls seemed to even want to sit close to that girl. Anyway had a drink and saw her leave. I left a short while after to and went to NEP. I saw the same girl taking to the cops very casually.
Next day back at BG7 one of my friends told me that she is Police bait for farangs. She is in fact 15 years old. And all of the girls there hate her.
Be carefull, being in a thai jail is not nice.

Regardless of whatever else you think of freelancers, consider why an attractive and very young looking girl would be out walking along Sukh at night freelancing.
The odds that she is either underage or a thief or has a couple nasty diseases are very high (and probably all three). The chance of her being independent and not working for some scum of the earth pimp (unlike your friendly neighborhood pimp) is about nil (IMO).
If you like young looking girls stick to gogos where the odds are pretty good that you'll be safe. And even then use a little common sense.
(There are lots of valid reasons why older women might be freelancing, so this is not necessarily a knock against them.)

This happened with a business associate of mine. He chose a female at an MP and after his sesssion decided to take her out. She became a regular of his. But the first time at dinner, all of us thought she looked kinda young and inquired to her age. she produced an id card that said 20. we still were skeptical because other questions we asked raised a couple red flags along with her attitude and slipps of the tongue while our thai translators were around. To make a long story short, a P.I was hired and her birth certification was given to us. She was underage and the P.I also found out where she got her fake id from.
So .... fake id's I will not say are common because I don't know, but they are around and not that expensive to get. I wanted to get one that said I was 18 as a joke!! ha ha ha ha!!
