Hmmn, well I suspect some parents are a lot more scheming and rapacious than others. And if not, then many of them are certainly shit out of luck. In my experience, many BGs (not just the bitches by any means) are highly adept at blowing large quantities of money on their own account.
OK, so the obligations owing between parents and children work both ways in Thailand - they're not just handed down in the linear pattern favoured in the West. There you go. It's a radically different culture, after all. Not necessarily better or worse, just different.
There are pricks everywhere. How many Western children repay everything their parents did for them by dumping them in a nursing home to die as soon as they become a 'nuisance'?
As for Stephen Leather, he is good at describing certain types of BG and certain types of punter, but 'Private Dancer' should not be treated like the Bible of Thai P4P because it bloody well isn't. I sometimes think this book does more harm than good, which is not entirely Leather's fault. Ý

A tad harsh Vj - Bangkok yes, but thailand ?? - I spend a fair bit of time in I-sarn, in remote villages etc, and always get offered food/drink/etc - which does not happen in many countries - as to money hungry/desperate - just try cambodia !

Well, I'd judge that the selfish-prick-per-square-mile count in London is also quite impressive. No idea about Vancouver.
However, judging by this forum alone, I'd say that the geographical spread of selfish pricks seems to be pretty comprehensive. Also, there's no shortage of farangs who do their best to bump up the prick count in Bangkok.

It might be more accurate to say that some of the girls scam people and some people scam them.
Happily, many of the BGs seem willing enough to take as they find. It doesn't kill anyone to reciprocate, and it's a lot more enjoyable than treating everyone as a potential enemy.
Cynicism is just as much of a distorting mirror as naivete but less excusable. Really, it's just sheer mental laziness, and none too engaging either.

I may have met one myself, time will tell but we have been in touch for 5 months now, and not one word about Sick Buffallows. Maybe she is a vegitarian!

Hahaha, That's funny coming from a fellow Canadian.
Canada is one big nanny state where all the lazy bastards don't leech of their kids but leech of hard working intelligent individuals who actually take risks(in business) or who actually put more effort into their own education or work harder at their jobs.
Instead of scheming parents leeching off, it is the mob-ruled government. Ý
I used to get angry when I used to see these dumb lazy single welfare moms with 4 or 5 kids. Ý
Or what about the 1000s of Muslim "refugees" who come into Canada every year and live on welfare and shoot out 5 to 6 kids and the bloody gov pays them 100s of dollars per month per kid?
I swear, I've see people who make more money than my dad(who's a professor) because they have 7 kids. ÝThey just sit around all day talking about how bad US is to the Muslim world, go to mosques to talk about it some more and then come home to make more babies.
Hehehe, but what do I know? ÝI guess Thais suck and Canadians are nice
