'Girlfriend' is not like 'wife' - it has no single or precise meaning, and can be used in different contexts to describe very different types of relationship.
Literally, what does it mean - a friend who happens to be a girl. A TGF is a friend who happens to be a girl and a Thai. 'Friend' has no single or precise meaning either.
I don't see any incompatibility in being your TGF's customer. This is LOS, not some Western college campus.

May I disagree!!!
My TG is putting money in my pocket. Not because she is rich or comes from a well off family. She just works hard and wants me to stay in Thailand, eventhough I am without work since 5 months! Sometimes you even may call it love!!! Ofcourse do not expect the above from a BG, she might disappoint you.

Ok ok that is not what you want. I guess we are clear on the " my" and on the "your" part.
So it is just the TGF part you want to know about? Right? Ok. So what is the issue here? The fact that there is a "T" before "GF". Well, that means the guy is telling us SHE is Thai as opposed to non-Thai. There are many kind of GFs. BBGF (big-breasted GF), FGF (farang GF), EGF (Eskimo GF).. too many to mention them all.
Now the rest should be easy. GF is GF whatever the country she is from and whatever way that guy chose to believe that she was.... or was not his GF. There are fools everywhere who wishfully think of some girls as their GFs. Let them be. There is also the reverse: cases where the girl really behaves like a good GF and the guy keeps being an ass.

TGF = Thai girlfriend.
Girlfriend is someone you see on a regular but not always exclusive basis, with the goal of maintaining that status-quo and/or progressing toward a committed relationship, and this relationship may or may not include sex, but if it does no cash changes hands for the act. Presents given as tokens of genuine affection and which are not mandatory to continue the relationship are not considered as compensation.
All others are prostitutes, see also BGF.
BGF = bargirlfriend. A prostitute you see regularly who provides an approximation of your personal definition of a "girlfriend experience" and who would not see you as often (or at all) if you were not compensating her.
