You could try looking on the Home Office site on the pages dealing with immigration to the UK
http://www.ind.homeoffice.gov.uk
You should be able to download the forms you will need from the Home Office site.
It probably will not be easy to get a visa for a holiday and you will need to demonstrate to the UK authorities in Bangkok evidence of a serious long term relationship. Your girlfriend may also have to demonstrate that she has sufficient financial ties (no pun) with Thailand - so the UK Embassy in Bangkok can form the view she will be sure return to Thailand before/when her UK visa expires. If your girlfriend owns her own house and has a good job and income in Thailand then it is probably easier for her to demonstrate financial ties than it would be if she is a casual/seasonal worker or housewife who you support.
If your girlfriend is not able to demonstrate strong enough financial ties with her homeland, then you might be better advised looking into the situation with visa's for a fiance. Details also on the Home Office site.

Well I just whant to echo what I stated earlier.. For me (2 different girls in fact) and my brother (2 girls one to NL one to to UK) each time it was a breeze...
I DL'ed the forms.. Showed suitable finances... Showed a letter stating address in the UK... Job done !!!
Each time I was told by others how tough it was but I had no issues at all... The desk guy asked how long I wanted the VISA (I needed one month but wanted to be flexible on the entry time) so I asked for 2 months and he said that anything up to 6 would have been fine.
I know my buddy is on his way up to BKK tomorrow to take his girl back to wales for a couple of weeks and is planning on getting the VISA on the way through.
I cant believe this is just me (us) ??

LivinLOS sounds like you have been particularly fortunate. It surprises me that you were interviewed by or had the opportunity to speak to the "desk guy" at the Embassy, as the Embassy staff will only interview the applicant not the sponsor. Well done and what's your secret?

erm...
I phoned before hand... I walked in at the 7.30 / 8 open... We only went to the desk and never had an interview with either girl on any occasion... (niether has my brother) just those little windows like bank tellers behind the back wall...
Of course my lady was wearing no gold and smartish clothing but no special attention was really paid...
Perhaps it was Rolex and stable bank accounts that swun it but I swear they were sweetness and light to me on every occasion (and my brother whose girl is a lot more 'Issarn' than mine was)... in fact my brother finishes surfing in Bali in a week or two and is getting a UK and IRL Visa on his chicky as he comes through..

i only know for the netherlands u can bring anyone for a holiday just u have to state that u are resposible for that person fill out the correct forms in the correct way pay for it all and bingowithin a week they get it, people bring other family members as well for holidays happens all the time but u have to do it corectly that is for three mths they are more scared said person will not leave if they do not then u can get problems. for stayperminant is more complicated
basically u need a house and enough money it takes about 6 mths it helps u can show u have a relationship ie telephone bills sending money western union. my thai girl had no money whatsoever no issue I have. if u live with your mum and u are 38 and on the dolewith a criminal recoerd u can forget it basically, if u have a job somewhere to live they cannot refuse there are many bureausin bkk some on the corner of wireless by the british embassy who specialise in these things translation as well because said thai girl must produce birth certificate which can be a problem. I got married 4 yrs ago paid 10,000
bt and they arranged everything and I am englishman living in netherlands the tourist thing I just went to the local town hall for the correct forms sent them off dhl and she was here within two weeks of course u pay for flight + visas

Yeah I lived in NL for 5 years prior to Thailand... My brother had his girl out on a 3 monther but its not possible (or at least very difficult) to extend that so she had to return for 2 - 3 months Thailand before another 3 month visi9t.. kinda puts strain on a new relationship etc.
I got to know some in the Thai community and one girl used to do 3 months on her passport and 3 months on a sisters passport and had done for a long time...

yes you cannot extend so three mths finishes go back and wait come againvery expensive friend of mijn did it he now lives in pattaya. but u can also apply for a permanent visa without marrying I also have friends who have done this recently, u need an mvv which means machiging voor voorlopig verblijf (permission for permanent stay ) u can ask for this at the embassy in bangkok it takes up to six mths but then she can stay for six mths and u extend it 5 yrs. my tg got pregnent whilst on a tourist visa and I had to send her back it was almost a year before evrything was settled and she came back she has been here for 4.5 years now my soon is 4 born in los but has british passport, she has until 2007 when if I still have work I canrenue for 5 yrs or life like I have but we want to move to los within 5 yrs anyway

My (and my bothers) problem were we were not registered as resident in NL (long story but making big money and would not pay NL taxes) so getting those things was simply a non option..
My TG was actually living in Austria when I met her and had a Schengen visa due to a marriage so I had no real strife... My bro had more hassle but was getting a friend to stand security for her..

understand your situation im from london but I paid taxes here for 20 yrs they try to piss u about but I speak word perfect dutch so screw em,anyway I work fo a japanese company also based in los so we want to move out there in a couple of years so screw em with the visa as well. problem is if it happens and u do not have the possibility then it sucks
