Here is my experience of today. It is just an example and should not be considered the norm.
Some background first. There is this p4p wild sex animal I met a couple of months ago (thansk to bro. Yurune) and she went with me for pure raw sex a couple of times. We exchanged phone numbers. But I never called her.
About 3 weeks ago one day I get at 3am a frantic call from her number from a man shouting and insulting me. I couldnt make sense what he was saying. He called about 10 more times over the next 20 minutes. Obviously I ignored the calls. I sent a couple of nasty sms to the number (I do not remember what I said).
The following day I was curious and tried calling the girl to check if she was ok, but she didn't pick up. I forgot about it. But a few days later I remembered the incident and I called, she picked up but quickly hung up.
Today I was cleaning my phone memory deleting old numbers and I saw her name. I decided to call her. Again she hung up. So, I send her an sms saying that obviously she didn't want to talk to me again so I would delete her number. Then a long sms exchange got started.
She: Me have boyfriend now. can not see you.
Me: Ok, I will wait for when he goes away.
She: He live bbk now. I don't want problem. He good man.
Me: Ok. No problem I wait for you break up with him. I check again in 2 or 3 months.
She: He more handsome you.
Me: No problem. Many other girls also more beatiful you. I wait and check later.
She: He very handsome and young. You have no hair. Why I see you again?
Me: Because I give you lot of money
She: Where you stay now. How much you give me short time?
Me: Same place. How much you want?
She: 10,000
Me: 10,000 you with me 6 hours we f_ck many times. Or 5,000 3 hours and come 2 or 3 times.
She:Ok I go your room.
Me: Now busy. Today cannot. Maybe tomorrow. I will let you know when I free.
She: Ok. No call me. Sms first because maybe I with him.
Me: Ok
Obvioulsy I do not intend to call her to pay such an overpriced amount. But I was amused at how fast she forgot the good handsome boyfriend when facing hard cash.
Ths is a girl who just one month ago was still working on p4p -so this episode should be seen in the light of her background and not as a reflection of TGs in general.

Funny you should mention that... No, at the time I did not even consider the use of a PI, but I wished to f_ck I had.
I actually met Warren from TPE last year, a long time after the "Sting"...
I read some of his posting on this forum and I was just curious to meet a real live Private Detective, so I contacted him and we met for a cold one or three in his "Office" Gulliver's Tavern...
I found Warren to be a very interesting, well informed and a very open and honest kind of guy...
Within just a few short meetings with him he gave me a much better understanding of the situation here in the Land of Smiles...
Although I would never assume I know everything there is to know about TG's and their Behavioural patterns I am learning more every day...
And now I am confident that I may (I can not say will) never be caught again...
I don't really want to wash my dirty laundry on this forum, but lets just say it did not involve Buffalos, motorbike accidents or sick relatives... 
It was more subtle than that.
But the end effect was the same same... I was hurt, both emotionally and financially by the sweetest little angel one could ever hope to meet... In fact her name (which I shall not mention) means Pretty Angel or something like that in Thai... More like LittleEvilLyingf_ckingDevilBitch...
Warren (TPE) said something to me that will always stick in my mind. "You never lose a Thai Girlfriend, you just lose you place in the line"...
Now I have a nice TGF, who is working full time in a Hair Salon, but do I trust her? No!
I had her background story (she had own Hair Salon/Beauty Business/ Own House, till hubby kissed a tree while riding his Motor Bike) checked out by TPE and it was all true...
I also have her email password which is an invaluable source of keeping track on my young lady... In fact had it not been for the fact that I know she is (waiting for me) I may not have been around to help her son...
To be fair, she had never mentioned Buffalo's or sick relatives, not yet anyway...
However on one occasion she said her son (3 kids in school up country because of costs) was sick...
I thought here we go again... But I helped her pay the hospital bills up north anyway, all the time thinking, you bitch... You f_cking lying thieving bitch... And was about to dump her when she said her son was coming to BKK to thank me... 10-11 hours on a bus just to thank me,...
It turned out, it was true. Her son had been stung by a jelly fish in the sea off the coast of Pattaya some days earlier when she took her kids there during a school break for the weekend. Apparently, his arm just blew up and blistered when he went back to school the next day...
I saw the scars and open sores still on his arm when he came to BKK to thank me... That was really nice to see his smiling face full of gratitude, but f_ck his arms looked really sore... Nice kid about 8 years old and really well behaved, or maybe sh_t scared of me, who knows... So were his brother and sister.
So I am glad I helped out then, and did not just ignore it.. So it proves there are some nice girls out there, but there are always two sides to every story.
My advice, use a professional to verify the truth...Every time...

ps. She did tell me the kids want to call me Poppa I said no way.... TG's get very attached they think they have caught Mr. Right in their nets... Gotta watch that one...

Well, there's the nub of it, Triyclops. Too much cynicism and distrust can be every bit as brainless as too much naivete. By this account, the only thing that saved your relationship was the lucky accident of your TGF's son coming to thank you. Otherwise, it would have ended badly and this would have been entirely your fault, not hers.
A great many relationships with TGs end like that and the blame is wholly misapplied.
Btw, are you sure TPE wants to be indentified on this forum?

Respectfully disagree.
Do not believe that you can put "too much cynicism and distrust" in the same basket as "too much naivete", nor label "too much cynicism and distrust" as "brainless". Cynicism/distrust, even in excess, is a survival/defense mechanism, whereas naivete actually subverts the survival instinct. A particularly important distinction today, I believe. (Does that sound cynical???) (Let's get Kryptonite's latest take on 'cynicism vs. naivete', OK?)
I'm sure you meant that a healthy balance is preferrable, in which case I'd certainly agree.
I believe that in TCs case it was healthy for the flags to pop up initially - but then to proceed, as he did admirably, jai dee.
