Sometimes it can be funny.
Earlier this year I was in Tai Pan Hotel. The breakfast area is pretty small so it is impossible to be inconspicuous.
The only guys in there were with their little friends from the night before. Converation broke out at the buffee bar about where , what, how much etc.
And the waitresses were watching events with smirks on their faces.

You should show a little discretion when eating at the buffet. If it's a cheap hotel with people of a similar bent as yourself, then maybe there are no unwritten rules. But it's a little low class to bring a girl down to breakfast in a decent place dressed as a bargirl. If your date can behave herself and is dressed decently (whatever that means for your hotel) then, of course, it doesn't matter what her job is and what you did the night before.

Another thing is, what's the proper way to end the whole thing? Do I just let her walk out my room, or walk her down to the lobby to get a cab? Anything else I should know?
There's no right way, it all depends on the people and the circumstances. Ideally, as a gentleman, you would pay her in the room and walk her out to the street. But, you are, after all paying her, so if you want to sleep in or take a long shower when she is ready to go, then you are under no obligation to escort her.

I am glad you mentioned that. Couldn't agree with you more.
It is important that the both parties, male and female act and dress appropriately in their environment, whether hotel or outside at a street vendor. okay. That is a little extreme, since I do not know of a dress code for the street vendors!!! ha ha ha ha!!
I also agree that if it's a nice hotel, then bringin' a bargirl dressed as a bargirl might draw a lot of unwanted attention.

Sure I should quickly add. I was alone.
But for sure I agree with you on that one. Three of the girls were still wearing the bar girl gear, cropped top, skimpy trousers, but some of the guys didn't help much, scruffy shorts and vest. I didn't pick up their accent but definitely European.

hi all,
finkster's mention of booking double brought up a dilemma i might face during my upcoming bkk trip. would appreciate all your advice.
i will try to avoid paying the guest fee this year by booking my hotel room as a double. i have a question regarding the check-in process for this. i will, obviously, not have a guest with me on my initial check-in to the hotel. when asked to fill in my guest's name, do i just make up one? what happens in the future, when i bring other guests in and their name doesn't match the one i initially gave?
