Well spoken, BoomARang. How apt it was that you did not once refer to the point under discussion on this thread! Maybe the site could institute a different procedure before allowing anyone to start a new topic. Such as, for example, straightaway listing the titles of existing threads the moment you ask to start a "New Topic" thereby forcing posters to scan existing threads. The impatient poster might yet ignore the list and ask to start a new topic but I am sure many would be motivated to go to an existing topic.

most subjects have been bought up before,just needs a bit of time to look for them.
BKK is not a place i have spent any real time in,but if i decided to stay for a few days,what would i do?.
what hotel should i stay in?,where can i find the best bars?.
i can imagine the comments i would get if i opened a new thread asking these questions,when there is so much info on the forum.
i realise searching for a thread on shaved pussies would take a bit longer,but there is a long thread out there.
and as Boom says,many members have already posted on this subject before.
but i will repeat myself,i like them shaved and i like to do the shaving.

Of course you are correct in what you say.....but people just leap down someone's throat the second they discuss anything that's been discussed before. It makes new members feel unwelcome....and a lot of them have something to good to contribute......
New people join all the time and I had certainly never remembered a thread on that subject.....I think people should be allowed to ask......in the case of hotels etc and good MP's then yes people should use the search feature....but new members don't always see all the available features....just like walking into their first Go Go...too excited.
I pointed out to a very long term member the other day a particular feature when he asked me how I knew something.......
My retort was possibly a bit sarcastic...but write it as you see it....

It's about damn time someone realized that around here! I tell you I get no respect! Of course it could be because I am more like a blind squirrel that occasionally comes across a nut but who's counting? ;) Sorry, I blew up. 
Seriously though, I know some guys get a bit irritated by others who create redundant threads just as they do by others who hijack a thread and take it off into tangent land. The difference is I know why and tried to articulate it. Also, it is not just topics that threads have been started with. You know as well as I do that some threads spend more time off topic than they do on. Sort of like this one at this point. ;)
Although there are numerous reasons that I didn't mention before, I only listed the most basic ones but in the end, either practice ends up causing a break in the flow of the board and by going back through the various threads, one can more easily mainline and get up to speed faster. Its better for both sides.
cmore - I'm sorry. Beat me, whip me, make me write bad checks! I'll promise to try better in the future, if I can remember that long. ;)
As for the rest of you, I'm not telling you which I prefer! ;)

Yeah, I don't enjoy erasing works of art, troll postings however beg to be deleted. I'd rather keep everything on, but repetitions, hmmm... perhaps that can be consolidated, but it takes a bit of work there. I normally lock up threads that ask questions that have been asked and answered well.
