I tend to dress reasonably smart and find that 8 out of 10 times the girls dont even bother asking for a price.

As the resident cheap Charley on this board. I tend to pay less then the other guys. At the price level I troll at I'm not looking for the 8 and 9 young stunner's. I go for the older women 30 and up maybe a 5 to 7 in the looks department.
When I'm in BKK, I head over to the Beer garden on Soi 7 early in the afternoon looking for st for 500. I have never walked out of there alone. I tell the BG I'm from Pattaya and I don't pay more then 500. The BG figures she can do a st with me, hurry back and grab another st that may pay better.
I like Gulliver's for the freelancers. I had good luck on Soi Cowboy and my favorite late night place, Nana Parking lot. At 2AM many are good to go for 500 st.
Pattaya, Cheap Charley nirvana 3000 bars filled with 30000 BG. I hang out in the beer bars where the bar fine is 200 and the BG are good to go for 500 st and 1K lt. There are go go like Super baby and Super girl with bored stunner's that will go for alot more money but they are above my budget. On Walking Street many of the AC bars charge 400 bar fine but many of the BG are good to go for my standard lease rate.
Your mileage may vary. 
I almost never tip if they ask for taxi money I will give them 20 baht.

Well I once had a girl quote 2000 ST when she was in soi 7 one afternoon. I didn;t go with her Later that night I saw same girl in Thermae and she was Good to go 1000 st. I took her that time and she stayed all night LT for the 1000 cause she wanted a place to crash for the night. I think the girls highball guys they think might be Newbies just to see if they will pay the high price. et it works for them sometimes too

And what is the deal with the (seemingly) sudden rash of Lady boys there? All the 'real' girls seem to sit just around the corner. Those lately have been trying to fetch BT 1500 ST. And none of them are that great looking.
Pomodoro used to be great for a bite to eat, watch the parade and then go choose your dessert for about Bt 500 S/T. No more.
The group sitting in front of Westin Hotel used to be higher quality (better looking) and good for a roll @ BT 500. Now, very average looks and BT 1000-1500.
As discussed elsewhere, prices are going up. Something like smoking more and enjoying it less.

Normally that adds. Or at least the freelancer wouldn't mind venturing a higher price.

I believe the time has a lot to do with the asking price in many cases. Early evening is more expensive than late, early morning perhaps a little lower and after 2am = "Happy Hour"!

If a working girl takes the time to do herself up to look nice like in a nice dress, skirt, heels, etc., then sure, I'm will to pay out a tad bit more to her for effort than I would with a girl wearing jeans and a T-shirt.

Agree on location and the dog in front of Pomodoro's SUkhumvitt Soi 5 has the best location and despite several kicks from the freelancers she is not giving up her position.

If the one with jeans had bigger tits and a tighter arse than the alternate then she'd get my vote. Obviously just my personal preference but the decision on which girl and how much we will pay is based on an infinite (IMHO) of factors. I've taken a girl when her only real attractive feature was her wide mouth and red lipstick - go figure!
