Oh I never completed this thread ok:-
Ok I said I could not help pay for repairs, it was dropped straightaway… odd. In fact dam right fishy.
Just before I leave for Bangkok (my ‘gf’ decides before she can meet me she needs) about £450 (English pounds) that’s like 1/5th of my budget to support her mum while she’s with me.
I said I would like to stay for about four months, she sends home 3000baht I said I would match that figure.
by my maths, 3000 baht * 4 = 12000baht or £184 pounds.
It was implied I should just text yes, instead I said I wanted to chat to her either online or in phonecall… I get neither (my date for the trip is getting closer and closer). Two weeks latter I see her online the request sounds like a demand!
Although I really wanted to met this person, im I can see it will just hurt me… so I cut my losses (reduced my trip duration to a month…) better have an amazing time and be broke than long time of heart ache.

I'm not clear. Why did you reduce the length of your trip? What does it have to do with this person? Are you reducing the length of the first great trip in your life by 75% so that you can give this person money who demands it online? You said you've never been in Thailand before--how did you meet this person, online? Don't tell your trip length, finances, etc, are somehow dictated by that kind of relationship... Sorry, jetseti, I don't see how it relates. Would you clarify (if you have time--don't feel you have to spend so much time on your holiday writing here! 555) ?

Both cost. Hence my trips duration will be cut.

You did the right thing, it was a setup and you were going to get burned. If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck (especially in SE Asia)...
Even if you ended up spending more on entertainment for yourself and so cut your stay short due to a higher burn rate, at least it was spent on you, and not some scam that would leave you feeling used, stupid, and a little angry.
There are plenty of decent ladies in LOS, this just wasn't one of them.

I thought the story was pretty good, and not too far a cry off the mark from "some" real life LOS relationships
