Didn't want to start new topic, so, has anyone used the Thai Language course at Wat Thai ?? I am going to BKK in October and wanted to renew my language skils, any info/thoughts ??

I started there a few years back and eventually wound up taking private lessons from one of the Teachers. No not "private lessons from one of the teachers" nothing like that.
The classroom setting didn't agree with me. At the time, 1999-ish classroom size was 10-15 guys. The teacher would have to have each student repeat the day's vocabulary words individually to help get the tone correct. I kinda felt it was a waste of time as some learned quicker than others.
I did go to the intermediate class after having lived in Thailand and moved back to L.A. to brush up, as it seems you are wanting to do.
Dunno how it is now but it was free every Sat and Sunday morning with suggestion of registering with the Wat ($75 fee). May now be a requirement..?
Depending on your existing level of Thai I'd say the intermediate classes were very useful. They incorporate reading and writing as well..

hey guys,
its time to dust off this one 
I was over in Thai Town yesterday and watched this guy walk across Hollywood Blvd at the light on Western.
He was a black guy about 30ish with a thai chick straight out of Nana...yapping on her cell, tribal tat on lower back, long hair, tight jeans, T shirt that said "daddy's girl"" on the front, and here is the give away clear heels...I am not f***ing lying 4 inch clear heels.
I was sitting atthe light thinking...well maybe its his girlfriend and she is a stripper (I wouldnt be so quick to judge, but clear heels).
If there was a place to pull thai girls from in thai town..I am certain we would all be aware of it.
I just thought I would share that with my LA brethren...man in 9 weeks I sure as hell wont be doing any guessing

Maybe that Nana chick was on the way to the clown room.
Back to revive the topic. All the usual spots are alive again, some of the same spots with after hours. Sunday school won't happen this weekend but maybe sometime in September. Also there might be a concert soon with a really lame old band that will try to gouge customers for ticket prices to be combined with Sunday School. It'll be in LA and will probably flop. TOT is almost completely dead until after the other restaurants close. Other places seem to be dying a slow death. Only place worth going to IMO is KT on weekends.
