It pays to plan ahead here, especailly since Thai's generally don't.
My advice in the past would have been to produce the girl's money as if by magic without letting her see where you usually keep it. Frankly I am now very much against allowing girls into your apartment at all. It saves risks if you take them to a cheap hotel, even longtime.
Seeing an apartment loaded with luxury items (by their standards) can lead them to sell you out, especially when they get into serious debt.

i have read many post here about how fl/bgs rip off, cheat, and steal.
i came to los for the first time a while back and did not encounter any these type of bgs. matter of fact one fl I was with I left many times leaving her alone in the motel room with valuables. nothing was ever missing. she was always honest to me for the three weeks we spent together. we still talk quite often on the phone, has asked only once for a small amount of money to help with her daughters schooling. is she the exception?

No, she is not the exception at all. If there was a forum about crime in your neighbourhood, anybody who had been burgled, mugged, raped or scammed, would contribute their expereinces to that forum. Having read all about it, you'd be afraid to walk out of the door.
This is the same. There is no counter forum topic asking guys to say how many trips they'd made without being robbed, so it is difficult to strike a balance. But I've never been robbed by a TG either. Just be aware that it is a possibility and be careful accordingly. If you're going to get rat-assed, lock things away. If you're going with FLs, then they're more difficult to trace than girls attached to a particular bar or GoGo. If your Hotel security either keeps, or records details of her identity, then that is some extra insurance. Don't get paranoid about it though. I reckon that most TGs are honest, in just the same way that most nationalities are, but there are rotten apples in every society and we are talking about the sex industry here. I'd say that bearing in mind the background of most of these girls, they're a surprisingly honest bunch on the whole (hole).

I must say that was an extremely good reply to the post, Hugh. Well put.
I fall into the "lucky-so-far" category. Never been ripped off by a TG and, interestingly, was never burgled until I came to Thailand. Some prick climbed up to my balcony, under an awning and over some barbed wire to steal only my wallet and a bowl of loose change (including the bowl). Other valuables untouched. Must have been a kid.

You can get ripped off anywhere. I don't think you're more likely to get ripped off in Thailand anymore than anywhere else. I've been with a lot of Thai Girls and have been crazy about almost all of them.
You just have to be careful. I went out one night not planning to take a girl back to my room so I didn't lock up my valubles. Unfortunatly, I was drugged by two girls while at a bar in Nana. Twelve hours later I woke up in my room 10k poorer and missing a camera and phone.
Anything can happen, just don't your guard down, anywhere.

Agree with most of the above. Take the bit of extra time to lock camera, mobiles, excess cash, credit cards away in safe.
Have an old second wallet with you when you go out containing just enough cash, a few old papers, business cards etc and if you do get fleeced, you havent lost that much. Keep your main wallet hidden in your boots, back pocket, under your shirt etc.
