I understand, respect and to a great extent share your feelings. however, I prefer not to get into semantics;
Your working girl is another man's ...Where I'm from "hooker" might be used in polite conversation, other words not.
I am happy to defer to you and call them only more gentle words (and indeed that is what I would normally do anyway), but I am not so upset if others do not (as long as they are not the words I mentioned).
As chateau once said about the word "Farang" there is potential danger in using words that create a negative climate (Forgive the liberal paraphrase CJ, I'm too lazy to look it up) but I do not believe that any calm civil discussion amongst freinds is going to be detrimental to the TGs.
I don't mean to be picky about words but maybe you meant demeaning or insulting? I don't agree but I understand.

sometimes it cannot be easy to talk about money,but if you know what she expects upfront,then your time together will be much nicer.

Some time ago, one of our members referred to his girl as his "tilac du jour" - I think that has a nice ring to it.
I like to think of them as "hired girlfriends" - I agree with Mr. Joe here that you "hire" people and you "rent" things, such as tools.
Just my .02cents worth.
