My info agrees with Seajohn.
There was a lot of activity, stopped cars etc, and a lot of girls along the side walk when we went past late one night in Feb.
So much so the wife asked the taxi driver what was going on (whilst yours truly decided that this was not the time to be "ruu maak")
He told her and even said the price was “har loi” (500).
Of course, everything is negotiable and a bargain is in the eye of the buyer. Enjoy.

As to whether they are Uni-girls or not... That nomenclature gets bandied around a bit too much, I'd say, and seems to be used by some here in connection with any girl aged 18 - 24 who is not in a bar at the moment. I would say, it's not likely. Not only because a relatively small percentage of the female Thai population will ever go to a university. It's too obvious a place to stand on the road and sell your pussy to every car coming by, in general. But maybe there are exceptions. Let's find out.

My regular driver usually goes down New Petchaburi on our way into BKK in the afternoon when I arrive; she told me last time that "many lady come here every night, but not good lady! Not good for you to come here"...kind of confirms what the others are saying, I think I'll stick to my regular haunts.

I would agree they are probably the minority by sheer population figures, but I still don't think it's a small percentage
not having gone to Uni = uneducated
even if they get out of Uni & still make less than 10k/month, they will still go
not to mention, look at the college & university campusses in LOS, they are PACKED with females
especially those in Kon Kaan & Chiang Mai
not to mention Toorakit Bundit in the BKK burbs
