In PI a "runner" is a lady who leaves before ever having sex even though the barfine has been paid. I think some Angeles City bars refund the bar fine or offer another lady when this happens. I agree with Quim if a lady agrees to ST and then leaves after the deed then she's not a "runner".

... don't know about other locals here, but I am still getting a number of unsolicited calls from gurls in my little black book from whom I've heard nothing in a long, long time... as never before.
... I take that as a sign the well has gotten low... others report on the dearth of customers out and about the adult entertainment zones... for those offshore members contemplating a trip here, I'd say the metrics favor lots of attention for sex tourists now.

Experience from other 3rd world country show that If things go very wrong financialy more and more girls will turn to less than honest means to get their money from the few remaining foreigners, so its maybe not such a good idea to accept those "fantastic deals" from unknown girls...

Deals continue to abound.
Went to Spanky's the other night in Nana and ran into a girl that just moved there from Midnite (because "soi cowboy no customers").
She had always stuck to the line of 2000 ST but got her for 1000 ST. My win!

I can vouch for the dearth of customers in Cowboy. Around 8pm on Thursday I walked almost the entire length of Cowboy and saw maybe 10 other farangs in the soi. Weird hearing the "welcome" and "hello, handsome man" echoing through a basically empty soi (if you don't take into account the welcome girls and the food vendors).

Yes, in some respects, I can't wait for the next World Cup.
We should all be urged to.....

However, in this time of a world sporting event, compounded by the non-appearance of disaffected or frightened tourists, genuine sympathy should be extended to those of us who are the (un) fortunate resident ex-pats who have to field so many urgent text messages and early morning gentle knocks on the door.
It's become so bad (?) that I have been tempted to say that I am in South Africa following the games. The trouble is that most of them know that I can't stand the game of amateur dramatics.

Not that there is any implication in your post,
quack quack, but I have to say that I do agree with the sentiment expressed in.... "........ appears unfair to over exploit their alleged misery........."
It is at these times when you see real hardship and financial difficulty and a sinking into debt caused by a lack of customers that people who dabble in the P4P world, should be tempted into giving an extra note, and I don't mean a 100 baht.
But let's not revert back into a discussion on pricing and tipping for the humpteenth time.
It is after all, a personal choice and people should do what they are comfortable with.

Dumbasses -- traveling to bangkok to watch the World Cup.
I'm always amazed by the throngs (well, not anymore) of brit tourists sitting in pubs, glued to some stupid game on the telly, with bored and disaffected girls twirling their thumbs in the bars.
Always a good time to pick up bargains, as I've found.
I get the biggest smiles in soapies when I ask the girl to turn off the TV showing football (or porn), and explaining that I'm not interested in the telly.
