You know up country in a some farming village - it annoyed me that a western man had a daughter of half keltic breeding- and half Thai and she lived with the thai mother in this village-
the mother had a live in Thai man in his house when he was back in europe working-
The school teachers and everyone in the village allowed this deception-
When I tried to tell the guy *(about what was happening) he disbelieved me-
The thais said I was bad doing what I did-
Even the school teacher saw me as a home wrecker-
And justified the scam as "best interests of child"
My partner rode around apologizing-
Her father was very mad at me also - and said "farang "
It meant we were fair game-
I wasnt finished -
Thais are not that smart in rural areas- and I managed to get video shortly afterwards-
A thai man driving the farang car-
Kissing the wife- etc
Next time I won -the evidence was firm -
My wife was furious at me and I got death threats and police arrested me on some trumped up charge-
Fast forward three years later the Thai man is back in his house -
My wife lives in the Major town near by-
her family get shit alot-
The farang keeps believing-
The bottom line is its acceptable practise to fleece farangs-
Even some bunnies that do the whole nine yards and take them abroad and think their houses there are safe - need to take heed of this entrenche mentality

This confirms that a lot of guys including self-professed mongers can be as sensitive as a flower.
This rating of nations is beyond belief and only confirms that so may people still will be unable to think in any global sense at all in 10, 20 or even 50 years time since we seem to be so entrenched in our desperate attempt to describe our identities and keep as many borders and barriers up to guide us through this world.
All nations have their abominations, their murderers and cheats as well as their good people and possible heroes, more than likely unsung and unrecognized and a lot surely forgotten.
Thais are no different than any other person. And Thailand suffers from racism and nationalism just as much as any other country.
Just because some countries are mentioned in a negative context, there's no need to feel so threatened. Just be honest enough to accept the truth of history.
As for this general tendency to look down upon bar-girls, here in Thailand or P4P girls in any other country, has more to do with men's need to feel comfortable with the context in which they place their P4P experiences than with anything else.
A P4P transaction is an agreement that both parties have entered into.
Usually it means that the lady is prepared to break with social convention and have intimate sexual contact with me for an agreed amount of time and price.
It also means that I am prepared to break with social convention and have intimate sexual contact with her for an agreed amount of time and price.
If I then feel that I can turn round and call her or refer to her as a slut or a whore, I am merely categorizing myself and my own behaviour in a certain language, for I usually will have initiated the transaction and have entered into the agreement equally with her, which equates me implicitly to her.

When I was having a beer at Barrafish's bar a few months back I met a guy who had just become engaged to a local Issan girl. He was in his 40's and this was to be his third marriage
His first had ended in divorce. His second had also just recently ended in divorce. He had married a Vietnamese girl from the internet and brought her to Australia. 3 years later once she had her citizenship she left him and took half of everything. The guy was scammed, her family were deeply embarrassed and it sounds like she may have had a Vietnamese boyfriend on the side such was the pace she divorced him. He was an average lookng bloke, seemed nice enough, not old so unless he was belting her around at home he was royally rogered up the back passage by a scheming bitch
So instead of taking stock and becoming a monger for a few years and taking things slowly he jumps on the internet and immediately finds himself an Issan girl. Very soon he has proposed marriage and this is when I meet him, in Udon. He said he took the girl to buy a ring and she insisted that he buys an engagement ring of small value. He was pleased at this considering the expensive rings he's seen other local girls receive from their Farang husbands to be. Only time will tell if this is true love or a clever plan to get a 'rich' Farang into the family before the extended family slowly sucks the blood out of him
He has bought a home in Issan so I guess that means its in her name. There is no way he can now afford to buy a house in Perth with 2 previous divorces behind him and he works for 3 weeks in Perth driving a dozer and then flies to Issan for a week every month to be with his new girl. Not really a suitable arrangement long term and he might want to hire a PI when he is not around just to make sure there's no hanky panky going on. The guy doesn't deserve to be robbed a third time

I agree with magnum. The Thais are more dishonest than most, by definition, because they lie more than most. They lie more than most, as he says, because it's culturally acceptable, much more so than, say, the UK. It's simple, 'face' is revered as a quality far above honesty and integrity and so, as magnum says, they don't even feel wrong in lying as, say, I do. That's ingrained into us as children but not to them. They have a different set of values which may have their own merits but, to me, they don't have integrity.
And the last story dirty guru tells rings true. If that were in England, people would look down upon the woman doing this cheating and, while most would seek to keep out of it, they certainly wouldn't pour scorn on anyone who wished to tell the guy the truth. It reminds me of the times I've told some Thai about any experience getting ripped off as a farang. Very rarely do I find a Thai condemning the person who's attempting the rip-off. It's more of a sin to be the person telling it straight. That's very different to the set of values admired in my own home country. While Thailand may have other qualities, you can't say it's the same in this regard.
