Thanks for all who replied to my post - much appreciated.
I didnt get any mention of "you mug! anyone and everyone does that - you missed the point" so my mind is at rest now....
Yes, I really did have a great time, and i'm looking to go back (to just Bangkok this time) either in March or November - hoping to get a good deal on the Landmark hotel for a couple of weeks.

The best UK deal (infact the only decent one I saw) on the landmark was with `airline network` - if anyone has experience with them then speak up Ý

Now... I'm under the impression that the landmark is a 4/5 star hotel (depending on which guide you look at) which has rack rates of $100 a night, so the prices on that deal look like a bargain.... Ý I'm thinking of going 16 days in March.

This is for the Landmark Hotel Club Membership. Tucked away somewhere in the middle of all the information is a 40% discount off rackrate. The club membership is 4100Bt and it comes with a lot of perks.
The disadvantage of booking with Airline Network is that you have to pay 100% in advance and their cancellation charges are very high. Whereas booking with the hotel direct does not entail and cancellation charges.

Welcome Papercut,
nice to hear from a fellow Essex man!
My first trip to LOS was only last Oct, spent 3 nights in BKK, then 6 nights in Koh Samui. I butterfly'd throught the trip, though i did meet 2 special b/g's & spend 2 days & nights with them, which was really nice.
I'm going back in 5 days, for 3 weeks, that's how much i love LOS!
This time i'm going to experience a few soapy MP's, 2+ girls, speciality bars....as this is truly the land of dreams!
I'll still be meeting up with same two 2 b/g's in the second week. So, i'm going back to experience more of the same.
As the other forum members have said, whatever makes you happy, but just be aware you could be missing out!
