hi Cataphract,
as tg are buddhists, they are more shy than let's say european gals. therefore kissing in public is mostly a no no. when back at your hotel, go slowly. many times, if you treat them nicely and move on slowly they will respond the way you like them to.
your personal hygiene is a major point when i comes down to the service. when i get back to my room with a tg / bg , i have a shower and brush my teeth. i am also not drunk. i then ask them if they want to have a shower too. for me, this is a good way to start the fun...
if a tg asks you to have shower , a l w a y s do it.

The first TG I brought back to my hotel in '92 didn't want to kiss on the mouth, but enthusiastically changed her mind when I offered another 500 baht (doubling her take).
Ever since, the first thing I do when getting back to the hotel is brush, gargle, and put on cologne. ÝI have not had a TG refuse kissing since, and most have done french as well. ÝVery nice for both of us, and saves me 500 baht. ÝI've found most girls also enjoy being kissed gently about the face, forehead, nose, and neck.
I usually see my girl to the hotel door in the morning, and get a good-bye smooch as well, eventhough it is public.

To the best of my LIMITED knowledge Thai girls don't like kissing on the mouth, as they consider it unhygenic.
The hygene aspect is particularly relevant if a kisser's mouth smells of beer and/or food. God help the poor Thai girl if her kisser has bad dental hygene, or bad breath.
The western method of french kissing is totally foreign to most Thai girls -they don't like it - period. This is generally true no matter what they tell their 'kisser'.
