Lotta of IT services in India. Several large IT Service companies are putting their backoffices there.
However, if PI ever cleans up its Political problems and puts some bucks into infrastructure they will become the IT Services Giant, PI is better located than India for the US/Asia nexus.
As for China, it was pointed out in a Singapore paper that a huge number of manufacturing jobs were lost last year, not to India but to automation. China's biggest threat is not cheap labor but the automation of manufacturing by Japan, EU, and the US.

Another good SARS winter in China will put a good crack in their economy. That stuff breaks out in Shanghai or any of the other major manufacturing areas, and as they say in the movies, "Bedee bedee bedee, that's all folks!"
Too many secrets are held by the government.
China is not the place small business. Plus, the quality sucks! I remember when I was working for Coleman, and we had 14 40ft containers at all times of rework from China assembled parts. Not enough Quality, and too much speed.
Another one to watch is Hungary. It's coming around, but seems to be taking the slow road. I thought it would have hit by now.

i have been accused in the past of making stupid posts to increase my posts tally.
i certainly am in the Minor League when it comes to this thread.....

so much for BK wanting this Forum to be solely about Thailand.
in the last 19 posts(at least)i have seen nothing about Thailand mentioned,only inane posts.
but hey,i have got another number for my total so it can't be all bad.
looks like i will have to do a Kryptonite and increase my numbers by using one phrase......
