My 2 cents to Derman:
Sorry to say it bro, but you are probably "getting taken advantage of." But I think it is a good idea to think through what that really means. If giving her the money does not affect you, that is, if you have enough money that sending her money doesn't mean too much to your bank account, then maybe it's not such a big deal. However you have to realize this 24 year old thai girl is probably not really madly in love with you. She might like you, and enjoy your company, and might be very happy to pretend to love you and have sex and spend time with you in return for your taking care of her.
If you are fine with that, and realize what the deal is, then great, no problem. You should also realize that she might still work in a bar, and probably will still sleep with other men in return for money. She might even cultivate other sponsors. If you are fine with that, and don't mind or don't care about never quite knowing what the truth is, then no problem.
Listen, I have been there, many of us have. What is helpful to keep in mind is that Thai women aren't some perfect creature that unlike the rest of the world are incredibly atracted to over weight, middle age, men. They are often very poor, and have few options in life, and very happy to be with a western man if he will help take care of them. For us that is great, because we are happy to help take care of them in return for spending time and having sex with atractive girls, who also take great care of us.
Once you have "been in love" with two or three go-go bar girls, the reality becomes more apparent, and I think makes everything much better. On my last trip I met a great girl who was a waitress in Nana. One night I was a little drunk and starting to talk with a sweet mouth and she said to me: "You and me good friends, not love though." She then told me never to fall in love with a bar girl because to many lie, and that if I wanted a real girlfriend I should find a girl who goes to university. I still keep in touch with her, and will probably spend a few days together in BKK in June.
Ok, this is now a long rambling post. Dude! Just do not give this girl more money than you can very easily afford. That is my main concern for you. If this money is a drop in the pan, and you are not emotionally crazy over her, then no problem.

Absolutely right. Once you learn to understand and accept the GFE for what it is, instead of trying to translate it into more familiar terms, most of the angst disappears. The GFE itself remains as good as ever.
"This one is different from all the rest". "I'm the luckiest guy in the world". "Hard to believe, but she really does love me." These thoughts are all fatal.
She's not different from all the rest - a great many BGs are capable of giving you the best holiday of your life at ridiculously little cost. You're not the luckiest guy in the world, but you're still bloody lucky to have discovered what the Thai BG has to offer. She doesn't "really" love you (whatever that means), but while she's in GFE mode, she provides such a convincing facsimile that this doesn't matter. So count your blessings.
You're not getting a real girlfriend, you're getting an 'ideal' girlfriend. Much better imho. Reality is overrated.

Said it before and still believe it, the majority of the
girls will change their lot at a drop of a hat if
there are genuine feelings between the parties.
Problem is most guys get bored and when a new girl
sets them a light the old one gets dropped, the
girls know that and this is a major factor in their
attitude to their customers, prove them wrong
and you will enjoy a real experience.
