I thought I would add my 2 baht worth on the subject.
I met a BG first time I cam to BKK, spent the following 2 weeks with her, did all the crying etc at the airport and everything.
On returning she kept working in the bar but came to chat in the internet cafe every night after work.
I returned to Bkk 2 months later and spent 3 weeks with her seeing the family etc.
She has quit the bar work, has gone back to school and only send her money when she needs it (ie not monthly) As of today she has been granted her visa to come to the UK and spend some time here.
I dont think either view is partically wrong sometimes we generalise to much - best to judge each situation on its merits

I am also still waiting to see how my relationship works out. At the moment she is in Wales -- called me three times in the middle of the night last night (I had to hang up on her the first two times coz my live-in girlfriend was sleeping next to me, then finally I ran into my office and picked it up the third time), and my heart feels like a herd of water buffalo are stampeding over it.... I'm experiencing feelings I've never had before and am learning quite a bit about emotional toughness, or my lack thereof.
Mostly as a result of what the "brothers" have suggested here on the forum, I am imagining that she is plotting and scheming to hurt me in the worst way possible and extract from me every last penny I have. I am convinced she will probably marry and be impregnated by the Welchman sometime over the next three weeks, and will not be returning to LOS to meet me when I arrive there in late August. Every time she says that she loves me and misses me, I immediately assume she is lying, because the brothers have informed me this is all an act that every p4p girl uses to extract maximum fundage from pig-headedly naieve (sic) and dumb suckers like me.
As to why I would insult anyone giving a "fair and considerate warning to a bro," well maybe it has something to do with the fact that I was insulted, ridiculed, laughed at, and generally made out to be the village idiot because I chose to share my feelings for a girl here on this forum. On top of that, a few fine folks even went ahead and, out of the kindness of their hearts (just being "considerate" of a "bro" I'm sure), told me what a despicable, evil b!tch the girl I loved must be.
I took quite a bit of gratuitous abuse before ever typing a single hostile word in response. If the so-called "brothers" cared even the slightest bit about a fellow bro who was feeling a bit down and vulnerable (just like our friend kwh74 is) then maybe they'd have seen fit to refrain from the personal insults for just a moment and offer up some advice on how to get what I really wanted, i.e. the heart of the girl in question.
Yes, I might end up getting hurt in this affair (my heart has already taken a few gnarly hits that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy), and kwh74 might not have a chance in the world of having a love relationship with the girl he spent time with in LOS, but damn.... is it that important for some brothers to be able to sit back in a few months and say "I told you so" that they've gotta piss in our wheaties immediately?

IMO, this forum is like sitting in a room with group of your buddies. You speak before the group and tell them your situation. Then you walk off with each one individually for a chat. Some of your buddies are going to be (a) sympathetic and helpful, some (b) are going to make wise cracks and some (c) will tell you to stop being a pussy and go f*** the next girl you see.
Your response to your buds will be the same, (a) thanks (b) No, be serious, I have a problem (c) go fu** yourself, I don't want to do that.
But then you will get together with your buddies, have some beers and at least have plenty to think about.
No difference here and you should listen to the bad crap as quick as you are willing to listen to the good stuff. It is all coming from experiences that you may or may not encounter. In any event, you will have been exposed to a lot that may be helpful.

If you check the other thread that you were abused in you will see that I was not among those doing the abuse but rather tossing in some thoughtful warnings IMHO. Maybe your lashing out would have been more appropriately continued in that thread. We are here in this thread trying to give this new bro a balanced view of the dangers associated with becoming too quickly attached to a professional girl. The dangers to the heart are many....we have all felt them in one variation or another.
Lets do this new bro some jsutice and share our experiences with the ladies rather than our experiences with each other (IE Bros flaming you)
The new bro deserves that.

You make an excellent point about this being a room full of buddies...some feel you pain...some are not in the right "place" mentally/emotionally at that moment to do so. We all care in our own way but are frequently coming from different places so to speak.
Another bro on another thread at one time said something that struck a cord with me...
He mentions that for the most part we must view these ladies in a way quite similar to the way we view bartenders. They are PAID MONEY to be our drink servers, our friends, our confidantes and our advisors. (They provide a service for money) the better we tip...the more likely we are to get an occasional free drink and or they might hang out with us after work or who knows. You could eventually develop a REAL relationship with a female bartender but does it USUALLY successfully go there?...nope.

Herman, you mean loss of _feminity_ don't you?
There seems to be a contradiction here...if Western women *had* feminity, doesn't this mean they don't have it (with some exceptions) now? And if they don't, doesn't this mean that they have to 're-learn' it, being the more technically term than 'learn'?
Unless of course what you're implying is something else...that it's a lost cause.
