HAving worked for a Thai owned company for many years I can tell you that business in Thailand is controlled by families, maybe 10,000 in the entire nation.... I am talking about the major industries.
And pretty much all of them have some form of Chinese ehtnicicity.
Having worked in a senior position in the company I can tell you firsthand that the level of work performed by Thais is far below anythingI have ever seen.
Take a look at what Thailand exports and you will see the problem... not a whole lot of value added jobs.... large petro chemical facilities, car assembly plants..... but for most Thais we are talking about existance, not a good job.
We used to just throw bodies at problems... it was so cheap to pay them we could put 10 people on a project that would take one highly skilled person in the West to do.
I could go on and on.......

shit, my wife goes to english school her ein the u.s. and her school book is labled "4th grade".... this means the equivilant of a 10 year old.
So you think it is simply because english is her second language?
HAHAHAHAHHA
I have tried to teach her percentages for years.
So when she sees a sale for clothes (which I will say Thais are very good at, shopping), she can understand what what 20% off means.
And the funny part is when she tells me about other Thais she knows and she says "she is not too smart in the head".
But God bless her, she is great in the sack.
