I can see the point on the loss of face. That was actually the purpose of this thread was to learn something about Thai culture that was unknown to me.
I may just take the test, thereby at least giving her the knowledge that I have been honest.
Thai women are beautiful but trying to figure them out is like trying to catch a fish with your bare hands.

...in my experience even getting the girl to admit their real age is difficult enough, even though I emphasised it makes absolutely no difference to me - as long as they are not underage.
I also ask them about previous b/f's, sponsors etc. as I try to get the girl to be honest from the start, and take it from there. There is no point denying to yourself that lies are told, and I say to them, I don’t like lies, and anything you tell me I will accept.
What I have also noticed is that a lot of the girls are just waiting for the right farang to come along, sweep them off their feet, take care of them and live happily ever after. The best way for this to happen, is to work the bar etc, hence why some choose to work the bar, as a possible way out.
I wonder what the situation would be if these girls lived in farang land, working in the bars – they wouldn’t stand a chance, they would get so much attention...they would probably want to go home after a week…!
There is so much good advice on this forum, but each to their own, and it's your decision. At least the girl can see you are serious about the relationship!

I have stopped asking these questions, even age. In a conversation with Dew yesterday, she said she would be back in Bangkok on Thursday. I did not ask "Where are you now?" because I know that the answer would be "I go home for a few days" regardless of whether she is home or on a barfine. Why ask her a question that will make her think of the answer you want to hear?

And, in my opinion, the answer to the above question SHOULD be "no", it should not be the truth (if she has one, they do not all have TBFs). Why? Because her job (especially at first) is to tell you the things that will make you happy. If you are asking about a TBF, then you likely would prefer the answer to be "no". She knows this, so "no" it will be. Her job is to provide a GFE, not to answer 20 questions about her personal life. She's doing her job. The fact that people confuse this is a testement to how convincing the GFE is.
The ones that are supposed "good girls" are also providing you a GFE experience. If you think hard about it, you will realize this. Or don't, and just go along with the GFE, it's more fun that way.
You may get slightly more direct answers if you see her regularly, sponsor her, get engaged, etc. Maybe.
None of this a negative reflection on the character of these girls, they are just doing their job.
All of the above is just my opinion, take it for what it is worth.

I understand and agree with what you have written, however I think I need to add that the tg/f I was spending time with was bordering on us getting serious, not just a s/t or conversation in her bar etc.
What I am talking about is forging a serious relationship with this girl, and my stance after the first couple of days was trying to be honest with each other, so at least the relationship has some kind of solid foundation.
I'm only too aware it's probably very difficult for her to be completely honest, after all, how is she to know that I will keep in touch etc. after only a few days together, but I was just testing her – as I had information from another girl from her bar as to her real age.
I was also told that she doesn’t actually work the bar per se, but rather inside the bar, just serving the drinks, bills etc. and only goes with customers if she really really likes them…! Whether the truth or not – who knows!
I also cannot commend the girls enough for their GFE, but this girl was different – I know we all say that…!
Time will tell, but at least she knows where I am coming from in terms of honesty.

I agree with you Addy. I have been told many times from various bar girls that their dream is to meet a nice guy and live happily ever after.
Going to your point about bringing them back. I have a friend that would like to bring one back but is afraid that she will jump ship as soon as she has her permanent green card (After 2 years of marriage, living in US).
I have always wondered how loyal a girl you would bring back to the states would be.

I did not give any of the tg's being sponsored by our corporation polygraph tests.. per say. BUT..... I did hire a P.I to investigate the answers to specific questions that were asked, as well as to find out their family history, and financial information.
And I could get any information I wanted from the P.I. It helped in weeding out the bad apples.
And the females knew 100% that we would check on their answers to the questionere.
I know. many can think that that is hard ass, but the our company viewed "sponsorship" as a business expense and hence too the neccessary steps to gain as much information before investing.

There have been some very good points made here about the pro's and con's of a conducting a lie detector test on your TGF.
I must do some research, at this time, I do not know of a study concucted wherebye the accuracy of the results are compared by different nationailities, sex, age, gender, profession, etc.
For example would a TBG be better at hiding the truth that a TG that is not in the business?
TBG's after all are very good actresses.
We all know everyone tells lies at sometime in their lives. But who can fool the Polygraph machine?
I must ask some manufacturers.
Personally, I too am of the opinion that a TGF will not be impressed. It may well have the opposite affect of pushing you apart, not binding you together.
It is an entirely different matter when you are asked to take a test by a potential employer. That I believe is acceptable in certain circumstances.
That is one route we (TPE) may go down in the future, to service the corporate market.
But asking your TGF to take one, I would seriously think again.
