You are right... the most memorable time I said no to a TG, I wrote this FR:

Soi33CanDo and I (trying not to raise my voice and keep smiling) then have a "conversation" in Thai and NRCutie and NightRider are laughing, as they understand Thai. ErikE doesn't know what to think. The essence of the conversation was that she thinks I should not have let her get out of the taxi when she was pissed off, and she wants to go to Hollywood. I tell her she can do what she likes and this isn't what she wanted to hear. She doesn't speak for about two minutes, we get to the Coliseum and Soi33CanDo turns back into the ball of fun I know and love. Crisis over. If this incident had happened with a western woman, I would be in the doghouse for the whole night. With Soi33CanDo, it is forgotten quickly.

Shocked? Nah! I was thinking: Oh, Soi33CanDo wanted to have a sigarette so she got out of the taxi... So thoughtful of her, as she did not want to blow smoke in our faces...
Mental note to myself: Learn some Thai before my next visit...

555 that's a good example ColoradoGuy. I agree that NO is not what the little angels like to hear. So we look for ways to make it No cleverly without saying it explicitly... I guess if you'd said We'll go to Hollywood next, the hope would be you'd go where you wanted first and she'd have a good time and get too lazy to go to Hollywood later right?.... Well, that's my strategy anyway and it works about 90% of the time... All's fair in love in war.

1. First of all, since you live in Thailand you should be able to find yourself a girl that is not out to spend your money.
2. You should be able to say NO.
3. You should tell the girl that you don't have the money to waste.

"No" is not what ANYONE wants to here. 
Good idea, should have thought of it at the time!  But as I said, the great thing is even if there is a tiny bit of resistance, it is forgotten soon.
A TG I work with (not a BG) has said something to me in Thai, that the rough English translation is: "If a man will do anything and buy anything a Thai lady wants when she wants it, then she will like the things he buys, but she will not respect him, he is the same as a pet"

I think your first mistake is the 4k for 1 night normal season (do you give her more in high season?). The simple answer is give her the fcuk money and take care of the rest yourself. As a resident and a regular 2 grand should easily cover the sex so after hotels and bf that leaves you with 1,850 for meals and entertainment. If you can't get a night out for 2 on 1,850 then get a girl who appreciates the regular business and a good plate of noodles.
