Actually I was a bit disappointed with the back biting going on so I disappeared for awhile.
I haven't been back in Thailand for awhile so I have not yet tested my resolve on this matter. Not sure I actually have a resolve to be tested yet.

the 2K baht wouldn't be so bad, if you felt you were getting your time and money's worth. You seemed a bit dismayed that she helps to define the "short" in short time. The advice in this thread makes sense, just hold the line at 2K and if that bugs you, move on.
I had a regular in BKK whom I always dropped 2K short time on. I'd met her a little MP on SUK and we ended up seeing each other outside of there for ST's. In reality the ST's were a couple of hours, as I'd grab a cheap hotel room and we'd hang there until we were done, often 2 hours or so. We regarded each other as buddies, to some extent, and often did a cup of coffee at Starbucks or noodles at a rotken before the dirty deed.
If you think about it, with today's prices, 1500 ST, 600 baht barfine, lady drinks, st hotel, etc. you are already over the 2K even if you go to a regular beer bar like Big Dogs. So 2K without the bf and the other "overhead" charges starts to be competitive. It wasn't in the past, when the norm for STs was considerably cheaper.
I finally left LOS and brought my Thai wife to Amerika, but not before spending a last, and somewhat sad, evening with this lady. I looked her up when in BKK at the end of last year but she was in Germany with her new boyfriend. She apologized and said she had to make a decision as she was getting older, and because I left, I was not an option for her retirement anymore, lol. I told her I was really happy for her (I was) and apologies were definitely not needed. She did, however, mention she would be back in LOS in 2010 for a while, and, btw, wouldn't mind dropping by to see me, lol...
Point is, pay the money and enjoy the fantasy, or the companionship, or whatever it is that you mutually connect on, and walk when it stops working for you. Things often have a way of working our for both parties.

It's not the 500 BK, it's the principle.  The question is who get's to set the price in this kind of situation.
If I take a girl LT on a spoken or unspoken "up to you" price, and pay her 2,000, then I feel obligated to pay her 2,000 the next time too, or inform her upfront that I am going to pay her less this time.
On the other hand, if I pay her 1,500 the first time, and 2,000 the next time, I feel I can pay her 1,500 the third time without having to bring it up. The first time sets the floor, unless you expressly re-set it verbally.
If a girl tries to reset the price on me, for special reasons, or not, I may go along with it once or even twice, but I do not consider the floor to have been reset. If she insists, well, then it has been, and I will have to decide if I like the new deal or not. Up to me.
And I can always politely tell her that I am not interested at a new price point. Then it is up to her.
If you do give in, you might want to make sure that she understands that while you are willing to go along with this price hike, you are not necessarily going to agree to index her fee to the monthly TG inflationary rate, or else you might just find yourself in the Ukraine one day....

Actually, it can work either way, you could set the price if you like, and then see how the girl reacts. Say, give her 1K for ST and sometimes, they won't make a fuss, but see if she'll go out with you again the next time.
